I once lived in the Caribbean for eight years and am looking to reconnect with the island life. Is there anyone from there who can tell me what island they are from, live on, and what is going on there today? Thanks mon!

I am from St. Maarten. Nothing much happening. Clubs are still swinging. The parties will soon start again around November time. This is our down time now. Other than the politrickcians complaining and lying to the people it is fairly quiet.

the Caribbean i think is the best place to live in the world. I'm from Montserrat but my family is spread all around island like, Nevis , st kitts and Antigua. i don't live in the Caribbean any more but miss it. the life s usually relaxed and peaceful until carnival and every island has it between July and august. the life style is healthy and with a lot of fruits you will eat, your skin will get great. the one thing is more than half of Montserrat is a danger zone because of a volcano but i say go st kitts.

Dominica(we are NOT The Dominican Republic!) is the place to be for the 10th Annaul World Creole Festival October 27 to 29,2006.
Wyclef Jean, Shaggy, Sakis, Byron Lee, WCK are some of the featured artists.
*** Dominica is also the island where Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 were filmed. Maybe Johnny is still there! hmmm..

Actually Pirates aren't. They simply spent time there.
I have only visited the Caribbean and I LOVED it....Statia, St Kitts, Saba (my personal favorite)...spent a week in Martinique, St Barts, Mystique, Palm Island, Antigua, Union, and a few others.

GREAT places all, gracious and laid back natives. splendid weather and too much poverty.
