I assume you are asking about marijuana. It is illegal in Jamaica, technically. However, that is only a technicality. Ganja is readily available and very often consumed. It was made against the law to satisfy American policies. |

If you're talking marijuana as everybody else said it's illegal. Trust me you don't want to get charged with possession and end up in a Jamaican prison for any amount of time. Not pretty. |

If by herbs you mean weed, smoke it there only. Don't try to bring any into the country and don't try to take any with you when you're leaving either. The sourvenier tactic doesn't work well with airport customs. |

yes I am citizen of the country and I absolutley live it. MOntego Bay I mus say is one the best places to go in Jamaica, along with Negril and ocho Rios. You will have a wonderful time guaranteed.
You can check out this website as a further guide and I hope you enjoy your time there.

If, by "herbs" you mean marijuana, know that it is illegal, though easy to get access to. If you want to smoke it then go ahead, nobody is stopping you, but be careful.
You were warned. |

There is a jamaican saying, "put it in your head, not in your mouth"
Meaning-smoke before you go out, not while you are out.
And if per chance you actually mean herbs as in spices, still some laws for bringing back. I'm sure agricultural laws come into play somewhere. Might bring back critters, insects, blah blah. |

Assuming that you mean illegal herbs, they are just that....illegal. Be very careful. There is so much to do and see and so many beautiful people to meet, I hope your interest in herbs will be insignifcant. You can soak up sun and culture. You will be able to eat some of the best food on earth. Try callalou, bammy, jerk chicken or pork, a patty, oxtail soup. Drink fresh coconut water. Enjoy a cold Red Stripe. Learn a little patois; it's a beautiful language. I've been to Mobay four times and have many friends there. Jamaica is a blue/green jewel and the very air is sweeter there than anywhere else on earth. Listen to the sounds of the tree frogs. Look up at the stars. Sway to the reggae beat. Go by the beautiful resort the Half Moon and you will see one [ONE] of the reasons I love it. Go to be blessed and be a blessing to everyone you meet. The people struggle to make a living; tip them well and generously if you can. Walk good...one love. |
