Cuba is the most amazing place, going back ourselves at Easter for a fortnight and can't wait, the weather will be lovely over Christmas and new year, depending on your childrens ages I would suggest Cayo Coco for the little ones or Varedero for the older ones, Cayo Coco is beautiful and very peaceful, not much to do but sunbath and do watersports but they have creches for kiddies so you get to spend time chilling and working on your tan, the beaches are very safe there too and the water shallow and bathtub warm, Varedero has so much more to offer if you want a bit of entertainment and something to do other than sunbath, easy to get to the swimming with dolphins trip too, thats brilliant for kids, the Cubans are wonderful people who adore children so they are always well catered for and put first and foremost with Cubans, take bread and banana into the ocean with you and watch your kids eyes light up with delight when the fish swarm round you to feed off it, don't forget your disposable water camera to get shots of that, I would recommend the Iberostar hotels in Cuba especially with you having kids, so much for them to do at Iberostar hotels, if you can take all your toileteries with you and any medication you will need and don't forget something for the kids incase of sunburn or pain, those things are very expensive in Cuba if you can get them, take plenty of sun lotion too as the breeze on the beach turns you a beautiful coffee colour but burns if you aren't properly protected, take little bits and bats for the maid too, stuff like nail varnish and tampons, they can't get them but just make you feel like a queen for giving them little bits, Cuba is such a safe place to take children if you need any more info just email me and I will help all I can, good luck.

I have not been to Cuba, but I lived in Puerto Rico for a couple years and the climates are similiar. Hurricane season should be over by then. The weather should be beautiful, probably in the 70-80's

The weather is perfect at that time of year. There is no risk of hurricanes, but in all honesty I do remember a very, very rainy New Year's Eve a few years ago! A special bonus of going there over the New Year is that it is the Cuban national day and the whole island is in celebratory mood for days. When we stayed in Havana during that period, we rented private accommodation in the suburb of Vedado. We were accompanied by our son and one of his friends and it was rather touching that local boys would call round to invite them to play basket ball. In other words, we were being made to feel thoroughly at home! This site shows how to set about it. http://www.acrosscuba.com/

i never visited cuba but its my dream to visit...i think over christmas the weather is fine and dont think there will be hurricanes...

Check this site for weather over past years. Hurricane season is finished by November 30th so it should be perfect for the beach, swimming and everything you wish to do. Without fail take a daytip to Havana it will be a highlight of your visit. Veradero has dozens of resorts and lots to do.

go with a package for sure. Resorts are all inclusive and cheap. If you are not Canadian fly out of Canada. They will not stamp American passports. They like Americans just not their government.

the weather is very very cold
