Puerto Ricans are white, mulatos, black and indians, must of the Puerto Ricans are a mixed of the last mentioned, here isn't a pure white, or a pure black or a pure indian. Yo can see a white person with curly black hair, you can see a black person, with flat hair as indian, you can see a black person with green eyes, you can see a white person, but his/her kids may be come out indian color with blue eyes. We are a combination between Spaniards, Taino Indians and Africans |

i just copy/pasted an answer i gave to a similar question: so here you go-
Puerto Rican roots are not simply black, they like evry other region in the new world have roots in indigineous people- in Puerto Rico it was the Taino Indians.... (further back it was the Igneris and Ostenoids).... then came the Europeans, the Spaniards and after exploiting the indian population for work and basically killing them off with being over worked and spreading disease they inrtoduced African slaves.... Many other Eurpoean countries tried to take over the island so you will also have to account for Dutch, French and British influences....
Puerto Ricans come in every color and shape and size, it is called a mestizo- or mix of culture and race which has evolved to be one nationality....
So if you're friends say that you look Puerto Rican or at least half, its probably because they cant pinpoint your features and that is the closest to being able to identify you cause they dont know any other way to do so....
Also you should take it as a compliment cause we have 5 Miss Universe title holders and we are internationally known for being attractive... its the truth....

Most Puerto Ricans are Spaniard white, or like it really is said European white though there are many blacks and asians meaning that it is incredibly strange to find discrimination or racism in Puerto Rico. So if you were asking that if you were afraid, no need to worry! Us Puerto Ricans are not discriminatory |

Puerto Rico is a MIXED race of Spanish, Taino and African blood. So you will find white/spanish, black and mulatto Puerto Ricans...
However, the MAJORITY of Puerto Ricans are MESTIZO. This is half White/Spanish and half Native/Amerindian. A recent study has shown that more than 60% of Native/Taino blood runs in the mothers side, while 70% Spanish in the fathers side. So making Puerto Rico MESTIZO. |
