Are there crocs, gators, or any other large predators in the Dominican Republic?

There are no dangerous animal in the Dominican Republic. It is well known that this is a very safe island, just the same as Puerto Rico.

I lived in the Dominican Republic for a couple of years and can tell you from experience that there are no harmful snakes in the DR. Spiders..to my knowledge there are no deadly spiders. They do have tarantulas but if you get bit by one you will probably swell up but not deadly. They do have centipedes that can cause a lot of damage. As far as other predator animals. The Enriquillo lake there are aligators but that is the only place that they are and all other waterways are safe.

There are some HUGE tarantulas down there but they are harmless. Nothing dangerous that I know of.

For Whitewater rafting and other adventure tours. I recommend a downhill bike ride and a trip to some of the waterfalls.

And the Haitians are not dangerous or visible in tourist areas. The cities can have some bad places like anywhere. Most Haitians live in the country as farm workers or they do VERY hard construction work.

There is a large lake in the S.W. part of the country with Salt Water Crocs. Very docile and I was standing in the water taking pics with my phone from 15 ft away.

No theres no dangerous creatures in the Dominican Republic. Good question..I understand why youre asking but no......there isn't, honestly.

Your biggest concern is the two legged predatures that are everywhere on the island.Stealing from the gringos is a past time and 99% on dominicans are thieves.Your next concern is transportation,driving or riding is a put your life at risk adventure.The last is falling coconuts.They wiegh 10 to 20 pounds and fall 20 to 50 feet

yes , they come across the border daily and some of them hustle naive tourists in the streets and others outside of thier giftshops in the resort areas .... they bite , they sting and suck your blood and they can piss you off more than a swamp full of mississippi mosquitos in june ... they speak horrible french and worst english....ya chillin dog ! ...but dont worry...they probably wont kill you ... lol.. .i dont know about the white water rapids ,.but the snakes and spiders have alot of white powder habits.. lollol
