Been there once, would never go back. It's an ugly Island. Desert, hardly any vegetation, wind blown and trashy (plastic bags and newspapers windblown to every fence and tree).

Megan
No! We go there every year. It is fabulous. I have been to many places in the Caribbean and Aruba has been my fav so far. It is cheap - price wise and the people there are very nice.
Will be going in May again. I will send them your hello! :)

Why should anyone boycott Aruba?
Give me a reason so I can answer accordingly.

ArubaLisa
No. Why should I?

If you are aiming at an angle on the Natalee Holloway story, this is a supposed crime which, if indeed is a crime, was perpertrated by one person, or small group of persons.

Why would I hold an entire country accountable for the actions of one person or a small group of people?

The Aruban people are friendly, welcoming and have no intention or desire to hurt US citizens or anyone else for that matter.

Sugaliciouzzz
this boycot thing is soo stupid!

just because this girl went missing on the island, everybody has to boycot the island. the people on aruba are not responsible for this incident, they are not responsible for the acts of joran neither from natalee herself who leaves in a car with 3 strange guys.

the aruban community helped out a lot 3 years ago when natalee gone missing, they voluntary search the whole island and seas around, they give in a whole work day to help out....they prayed with her mom giving her support...etc...etc...(do you think if an aruban girl gone missing in the states they will do that???)...i don't think so!

the aruban law are the same as in holland, they do the best they can, and if joran or anyone else is guilty they will pay for it, believe me. its just this case is soo twisted.

By the way joran is not ARUBAN he's DUTCH!!!!! and we here in aruba just can't stand this arrogant fellow, he is soo disgusting!

to: "THEAmericanPatriot" if you was never on the island, then don't speak things you don't know. aruba is not like for example cuba that there is a lot of poor people and a small (like you said "rich pigs"). we are a democratic island, with a high percentage of studied and professional people with good jobs and living on a still remaining happy and safe island aruba, with values and morals!!!

p.s. extra info: even some people try to boycot aruba, a lot of tourist still are coming every year, most americans. just because they know what aruba really is and LOVE IT...just a happy paradise....thank you for your support...we appreciate it :)

HECK NO..I was there for 6 weeks..in December 2007/Jan 2008...Go there every year...and I love IT...

ackbuffgirl
No. I am going back to Aruba in less than 2 months and can't wait! Why should I? It is a beautiful island filled with great people. Everyone whom I have met down there have been so friendly and welcomed me with open arms.

michinoku2001
No, Aruba is such a high-end destination that it's unlikely to be suspectible to a boycott.

LexDiamonds
No. Aruba is beautiful. Foreigners go missing in the United States all the time and the U.S. government does almost nothing about it. What other country do you know of will give the ENTIRE POPULATION the day off to look for one girl?

Besides, aruba is tiny. if they havent found her by now she is in all likelyness dead. sorry.

Jake M
Nope

Why should I? I have been there before, and I will go again. Just because of what happened to that girl doesn't mean the whole island itself is bad. The people are friendly that I met, and did no harm to me. So why should I hold a country accountable for 3 or 4 people's actions?

It's sad for what happened to her, but at the same time she and as well as the chaperone's for the school should have been more responsible. Don't blame the island for 4 people's action.

One Happy Island!

No way Aruba is the # 1place to go on vac k
nice beaches grate food lots of night life

LeChatNoir
Should I?
I once boycotted Jons Grocery Store because every time I went there they would never had what I needed.

sure why not- i'll never go there

THEAmericanPatriot
No, I've never been there and will NEVER go there. It is over rated, over priced and they keep their people down by paying them low wages so the rich pigs and live like kings & queens when they visit.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE! RISE UP AND STRIKE! LET THE RICH SCUM CARE FOR THEMSELVES!
