Because some people are jelous of us and all our achievements, including our extremly high 98.6% literacy rate.
For those who dont know, Trinidad and Tobago is a developing country, with the strongest most vibrant economy in Caricom, and the fastest growing economy in the Western Hemisphere. We are the largest exporter of ammonia and methanol in the world, and largest supplier of LNG to the US (we supply 70% of US LNG imports). We are the wealthiest nation in the English speaking Caribbean, and one of the most developed in the region. We have made so many achievements...so if people want to hate on us, let them hate, cuz we know that we are a very sucessful nation.

¡Keisha!
Barracuda we knew you were coming so we tell all the dogs to come out and we did not bother to clean up either hoping that would make you leave sooner!!

and sometimes children gain as a result of our great school system
i had a cousin from the USA who was seven and could not read
could you imagine how pissed my entire family was
fortunately she was then enrolled into school down here for a while
and when she returned to the US
i believe she was skipped a grade or two because of reading skills she had acquired here in trini

if you compare schooling it will seem that we (trinis) are more advanced. but in the greater scheme of things, we are still far behind. if you live in america or canada, for example, for a while you will come to realise what is lacking in third world countries. the standard of life is far worse here and so is the cost of living. this is just my personal observation. yes there are some people who would not give up the caribbean life for anything, but then again why are there so many caribbean people waiting for the first opportunity they get to migrate out of the caribbean? and what of all the people who migrated, loved the new life and never returned? i guess there is something to be said for a a first world country after all, and most just have to experience it to understand it properly.

Curious!
That is beacuse our level of Education is at a higher level until College. We are based on the English System

Barrcuda needs some serious help - never knew how one could be soooo jealous of our country! Trinidad has it advantages and so to Barbadoes - even the Gay men living there, live happy, I don't see why Baracuda can't do same

It's true. I'm from Barbados. My last visit there was a nightmare. Your cops are carrying Army grade machine guns and assault rifles on the street, there are stray dogs everywhere, garbage everywhere. People die on your roads all the time because people drive like maniacs. There are kidnappings all the time.

I would never want to go back there.
