I have not been to the Bahamas, but know people that have and they all loved, Freeport, and Nassau. but what i can tell you is i went to Aruba last year on a cruise, and i can tell you this I'm glad we were only there one day. the island has a lot of cactus like plants and is real desert like. no tropical feeling at all, we went on a jeep tour that took us on the coast line of one side of the island and i have never seen so much crap. when i say crap i mean garbage, it littered the coast line. and i know that most Caribbean islands have garbage, but this looked like the slums or projects in some city, not what you think of when you spend money to go some were nice. i have been to V.I British and American, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, St. Maarten and Curacao and i would have to say Aruba is the worst place i have ever seen. if you want my opinion go to Jamaica, were there is the most friendliest people i have ever met, the land scape is much more impressive, and the beach's that i have seen are very beautiful. hope this help some what and have fun

paradise island is amazing but i prefer aruba.

and to the guys who is CONSTANTLY bad mouthing Aruba up there, you clearly went to the other side of the island were it does get pretty ugly. theres a large amount of sharks because people dumb their trash over the cliffs, and it is dusty and full of cacti. its also not uncomment to find starving dogs on that side of the island, the only good thing over there is the torist attractions. if you go to the other side of aruba, its nothing but clear water, the occational pelican, a light breeze and a handful of pina coladas! you clearly spent a day on the wrong sid eof the island and didnt get to see its full beauty!

The Bahamas...New Providence Island, the govt and commercial hub of the islands, boast s the famed city of Nassau**.Known for stunning white-sand beaches,Paradise Island. Shopping's the thing to do in Nassau on New Providence Island. lots of duty-free shops-not to mention the Straw Market.Historians will enjoy the Govt House,Fort Fincastle, and St.Augustine Monastery.BeachLovers visit Cable Beach, and for the Nature Wonderers, visit The Retreat. Try not to miss out on the Junkanoo Festival December 26th and New Year's Day!

In the bahamas....
either Freeport...
or nassau

go to the bahamas. in freeport, try the lucayan national forrest. they have very secluded beaches. nassau was great as well. a little more populated than freeport. you should try the snorkeling.
however, i have never been to aruba.
the bahamas' number one industry is TOURISM. they will see that you have a good time.
