Technically the Bahamas are a part of the Caribbean. As far as visiting I think the middle and lower Caribbean are nice, but for living I liked the Bahamas best. |

I would rather always to be in the Caribbean, the islands are larger, warmer and prettier. The choices you have are the eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Maartens); the southern Caribbean (Puerto Rico, the ABC islands (Aruba, Barbados and Curacao, Isle de Margarita); the western Caribbean (Cozumel, Cancun, Cayman Islands) etc. No matter what direction you may go in, it is just beautiful. |

The Bahamas are in the Atlantic, not the Caribbean. Puerto Rico's North coast is also the Atlantic. The Bahamas are flat, dry and ugly. Beautiful water and beaches, but too many sharks!! Other Islands are green and lush and also have beautiful beaches and water. British Virgin Islands,Anguilla, St Maarten,St.Lucia, Greneda, St Vincent....Never Aruba or Jamaica.. |

The latter. Far more intriguing, diversified, plentiful in places, and not so thick will tourists on many of the "C" Islands.
My fave however is St. Maarten.

Bahamas doesn't really sit on the Caribbean Sea (look at a map, and its mostly Atlantic). I'd rather stay in the Southern Caribbean (St. Vincent, Barbados, and St. Lucia). |

The Bahamas is NOT in the Caribbean. As far as the question goes, each country has unique aspects, so it is pretty hard to decide. I'd say Bermuda. ;) |
