Barbados safe from Hurricane Gustav ?

Screaming at 9000 RPM's
For general info; pay attention to the weather advisories. Particular attention shoud be paid when a weather system is anywhere around 10-12 degrees NORTH. As one listens to the advisories more and hear that the system is headed above 13 degrees north, one can breathe somewhat easier.

Why?
Barbados' tip is 13 degrees north. We know these weather systems have the tendency to turn up; not normally down. Good so if a system is at 10-11 degrees north, if and when it starts to take its upward trend it puts it on track with a collision course with Barbados. So, keep listening to that Y axis coordinate, the degrees north...

Highly Favoured
We do not have anything to worry about right now. Generally, hurricanes tend to pass us by.

As I'm writing, hurricane Gustav is over Cuba, moving towards the U.S.
In general, hurricanes form in the Atlantic and move in a north-western direction and some (few) can indeed touch Barbados. In this case, Gustav is already far away from Barbados. Hurricanes NEVER turn around, so don't worry, Barbados is safe.

On the map it looks like barbados is free and clear, but getting a flight will probably be hard, since florida, and all states over to the west are in warning. If you can I would wait, because you don't know what kind of damage barbados got.
