Definitely Puerto Rico! First off PR is a US territory. It is less dangerous than some islands & the water is safe b/c it is US & FDA regulated. The $ is USD & people can speak english & no passport is needed!

Ok but seriously PR is beautiful & has so much to do & see. San Juan is a historic city. You can see 'El Morro' which is a 500+ yr old war fortress overlooking the ocean. & the San Jaun cathedral is the oldest church in the 'New World'. You can walk the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan & see the clorful architecture. There is so much nightlife & partying & fesivals too! Las Vegas style casinos as well & tons of shopping. The people are friendly & the food is delicious!

There is 'El Yunque' Rain Forest. It is lush mountains w/ gorgeous waterfalls taht u can swim in! U can see the endangered puertorican parrot & here the coqui frogs sing. The Camuy caves are gorgeous too! They are the 3rd largest cave system in the world! You go down deep & tour this wonder. The worlds largest radio telescope is in Arecibo (from the movie Contact).

& the worlds biggest rum maker gives tours- Bacardi house. & You can go to 1 of the 3 Bioluminescent Bays (the best of only 6 in the world). This is water that glows when u touch it! It is amazing! U can take a small boat of kayak out so u can swim in the radiant light!

Not to mention the world class hotels & dining & Gorgeous white sand beaches all over! So any water sport u can think of & fishing is great too. U can even take a ferry to small remote islands off the coast. PR even has an island called Mona that noone lives on, but u can take a tour, it is comparable to the Gallapagos islands w/ giant seaturtles, etc.

They call PR the 'Isla del Encanto', which translates to the Island of Enchantment, for a reason. ENJOY!

Ps- Look at what Christopher Columbus said:

Christopher Columbus sighted land on his first trip to Americas on October 12, 1492. The land he discovered was San Salvador in the Bahamas.

A few days later he discovered Cuba then modern day Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The following year, on his second trip, he discovered lastly the island of Borinquen, which he named San Juan Bautista, today known as Puerto Rico.

He wrote in his journal: "All the islands are very beautiful . . . but this last one seems to be superior to the others in beauty."

You could try Barbados!

That country is paradise! Also, has so much to offer. You can take a tour bus to see the whole island!

So much to do, so much to see! The nightlife is GREAT! Check Harbour Lights (http://www.harbourlightsbarbados.com/ ), Boatyard (http://www.theboatyard.com/ ) and St. Lawrence Gap (http://www.thegapbarbados.com/ ),(http://www.barbados.org/stlaw.htm ).

St. Lawrence Gap has not only clubs, but restaurants, hotels, etc.. Such as The Ship Inn (http://www.shipinnbarbados.com/ ), Reggae Lounge, etc.!
Bridgetown, its capital, is known for duty-free shopping ranging from shoes to clothes to jewellery to books.

The beaches are fabulous, try Accra (known as Rockley Beach), Maxwell, Miami/Enterprise.

The people are friendly, some food are different (if you always want to try something different, you can try Fridays in Oistins (a town known for its fish market).

If interested, you can check out The Barbados Museum (http://www.barbmuse.org.bb/ ). Like I said, there's so much to see in this whole island. You can try some cruises such as Jolly Roger (http://www.tallshipscruises.com/ ).

You can also check out Atlantis Adventures (http://www.atlantisadventures.com/barbados.cfm ), Harrison's Cave (http://www.harrisonscave.com/ ), among other places, if this have sparked your interest, you can check out for more information below:

http://www.barbados.org/

If you are in need of cheapest accommodation out there and not care about luxury but at least clean, then I suggest Pegwell Inn Guest House, it's close to amenities (across the street is Southern Plaza), public transportation (right at the road) - a big bus to go into Bridgetown or Speightstown, maybe a minibus but for sure, a route taxi (route 11) that goes into the capital and all costs $1.50 BDS) - you could even take a taxi but it's expensive), beaches, and within walking distance, internet cafe (if it's still there), laundromat, post office, restaurants, pharmacy.

For an all-inclusive, try http://barbados.org/allinclusive_vacations.php and you could check for reviews if needed - http://www.tripadvisor.com/

Hope this helps.

The commonwealth of Dominica.(Dominica).
It is the best place for the adventurous, true nature lovers ,eco friendly and just those that want to defy the everyday and experience a vacation genuine and unique.
It is the best place in this sense because it is the only caribbean island that has most of its land under natural, virgin forests ..the island also promotes eco-tourism so therefore there are many nature sites developed such as mountain Waterfall, freshwater lakes, boiling lakes etc etc ,trails

St. Lucia! Great island. Try the cruises to the drive through volcano. The botanical garden was great! Close to Martinique for a day trip.

I have actually visited all those locations and they are all good choices, however another island to visit that is worthwhile is St. Lucia. Since you want to pick one, I say Aruba.

I recommend St Lucia. It is very beautiful and not overly developed like Barbados. It has a lot of natural beauty like rain forests, waterfalls, sulphur springs, botanical gardens. It's very relaxed, the locals are friendly and there are lots of spots to party, like the Friday night jump off in Gros Islet, and the Saturday night party in Dennery to name a few. Also the US dollar goes pretty far there.
Also Puerto Rico is nice, very urban yet still very tropical. There is also so much to do and see. It has a lot of cultural and historical sights, beaches, and plenty of nightlife.
Aruba is ok, has beautiful beaches, but just not somewhere I would ever visit again. To me it wasn't as lively as other as other islands.

I would advise you to visit the twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Our prized possesion is our hospitable people. Courteous with a warm smile and a good word. We boast a total of 365 beaches, come see our sun sea and sand.

Two island for the price of one, Barbuda has natural caves, a bird sanctuary and stretches of stretches of unique pink sand beaches. Barbuda is a hub for great seafood, fresh lobster, crap shrimp, fish, you name it.

The main island of Antigua, while its a tropical getaway has modern day comforts of a thriving city, and the quiet nature getaway that every busy adult requires. Check out our website at: http://www.antigua-barbuda.org/
