Barbados without a doubt!
The weather is fabulous! At most, it'd rain for 10 minutes then the sun is up again. You can even lay down on the beach and try to catch a tan if that's what you're interested in.
If you're on budget, then I'd recommend a guest house by the cheapest means. I would suggest Pegwell Inn as the cheapest I've gone to but this lovely woman told me that it was going out of business this recent June so I don't know now.
The beaches are gorgeous, there are even small ones to enjoy. Bridgetown, its capital, is not only known for duty-free shopping but for history as well as harbour.
The route taxis, yellow mini buses or big blue buses are $1.50 BDS each way.
Oistins, the fishing town, holds events every weekend (mainly food), I believe it's on Fridays.
Has great nightlife, too! Not only seen in St. Lawrence Gap but among Bay Street in its capital.
Barbados has a lot to offer! So don't pass the beautiful island up. It's one that I keep coming back to!
It helps if you state where you're located (city/state/province), so I could find or try to find the deals. |

I would have to say St Lucia. There is a major food and rum festival in St Lucia from January 15-18, 2009. The festival is a four days long activity will be held from at the Pigeon Island Causeway in St Lucia.
You will get to sample the best foods of St Lucia prepared by some of the best Chefs. Now if you are into rum, St Lucia has some of the best tasting rum out there, but don't take my word for it. My advice is to go there.
There are also several things you can do while you are there so you won't be limited to just eating. |

Definatley Grand Cayman. My family and I stayed on seven mile beach one a condo we rented. It was less than a hotel, and we had a kitchen two bedrooms, and two bedrooms. We also were oceanfront, which is guranted unlike hotel rooms. Hotels can call rooms ocean front rooms, which are in the back of the hotel. Grand Cayman is nice becasue, there are many restaurants, fast food places, and activities to do. It is very affordable! My family stayed at Villas of the Galleon, and flied US Airways direct from Boston to Grand Cayman. We found our condo on this great site which you definatley have to check out! Its called VRBO, just type in under google! Barbados is very expensive, especially airfare. I've been to cancun and cozumel and it is nowhere near as nice as seven mile beach in grand cayman. I've also been to Ocho Rios Jamica, which is also very yucky, and dirty! Also, i've been to St.Marteen and then took a ferry to Anguilla! Anguilla is the best place i've been, but too expensive to go back :( The only place up to parr is grand cayman! If you choose grand cayman definatley go to stingray city, it is soo funnn!
-have a great January vacation |

The Dominican Republic (Punta Cana, Santa Domingo, Puerto Vallatra) are really cheap. I went there last year, warm (hot in the summer), and a lot of All Inclusive resorts. This means, you pay for a flight, and a hotel, and ALL food, and drinks are FREE!! Try the "Majestic Colonial Punta Cana" in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Try booking from www.cheapcaribbean.com, safe, and reliable.
-Best of luck |
