Best place/time to vacation in Jamacia?

I went to Montego Bay to Sandals Royal Caribbean for my honeymoon a few years ago. I was hounded and propositioned constantly for money. It's not peaceful because you hear planes landing and taking off all the time. Mo Bay is just not what it used to be.

Do yourself a big favor and go to Negril, it's much more peaceful, and there are both singles and couples resorts. Here's one you may be interested in:

Montego Bay is closest to the airport. . I stayed at The Sunset Beach Resort., about 15 minutes from the airport. The last thing that I wanted to do was travel for another hour or two on a bus to the resort .
All inclusive. The food was very good, you can eat from 7AM uintil 1AM. They had good entertainment . They have a guest desk that has brochures of the different outside activities, yes there is zip lining.
The resort is ilocated on something like a compound. It is gated. There are no locals wandering around on the beach bothering you. It is hurricane season June thru November.We got caught up in Gustav. Still had a good time.

If you are looking for the most sunny period, then, it is definitely between the month of June to August.

There are 3 primary areas for fun All Inclusive Resorts. They are;

1. Montego Bay - This area is directly has (maybe) the best beach in the island and that is Doctor's Cave Beach. There is also wonderful nightlife here, whether you want to go to a Night club, go gambling at a Casino or a Sports bar. You may also do alot of outdoor activities here too, such as zip lining, boat rides, booze cruise, snorkeling, and many more.

2. Ocho Rios - This area by far has the most outdoor attraction in the island. There is the Dunns River Falls (the highest waterfalls in the Caribbean), The Bob Marley Mausoleum, The Dolphins Cove, Chukka Adventures, Rainforest Mountain, Zip Line Tours and many more. The beaches here are not as beautiful as in Montgeo Bay or Negril, but, they are very nice though. Nightlife here is also wonderful, you can go to a Night club, a Sports Bar or Maybe a Jamaican Concert.

3. Negril - This is maybe the most popular area for fun lovers. This area has a 7 mile beach strip that you can walk along. Most of the All Inclusive Hotels are right on the beach. There is also great Night life here, you can go clubbing, go to a beach party, a Sports Bar or do other stuff. There is also a waterpark there (the only one in the island) and you can do zip line tours here too.

My recommendations would be either Ocho Rios or Negril, but, I would urge you to see more of the Island outside of the All Inclusive. There is alot to see & experience.

As for the All Inclusive, it's either best to stay at a Super Club or a sandals.. Feel free to holla at me and i'll assist you.

I recommend that you stay in Montego Bay for the simple reason that you are smack in the middle and can more easily go to Negril or Ocho Rios without paying an arm and a leg for transportation.

Anytime is a good time to go to JA.

As far as tips go, think carefully about how much you want to spend. I suggest choosing your tours before you go. Jamaica can be pretty expensive if you're not careful. Also, don't forget to bring your common sense and an open mind.

GO TO OCHO RIOS OR NEGRIL WHY THE BEACH IS NOT AS NICE IN MONTEGO BAY TRUST ME I DID NOT LIKE MONTEGO BAY AT ALL I WENT WITH MY BOYFRIEND FOR ONE WEEK IS WAS PARADISE IS THE BEST ISLAND I EVER BEING TO THE PEOPLE ARE NOT TO POLITE YOU DON'T FEEL WELCOME BUT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL THE BEST I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK THERE AGAIN NO REGRETS AT ALL

I just left Jamaica two weeks ago and I had the time of my life!! I have family there, so i usually don't do the "tourist" thing, but I can tell you that any all inclusive resort in Montego Bay or Ocho Rios will be perfect for you! You wont have to worry about food or entertainment, and you can find someone to transport you SAFELY around the country! I know that SANDALS has one of the more popular all-inclusive packages...during the summer it may be higher though, because that is peak time travel...early March or April are also good times to go, I hope you go, trust me everytime I go back I have a blast! The weather is perfect, and the people (for the most part) are very friendly, don't believe that bad things you hear!!
