Best snorkeling spots in the Caribbean?

What are the best snorkeling sites and scuba diving sites in the Caribbean?

Highly Favoured
Barbados is one of the best places to snorkel or for any water activity. There are more than 24 dive sites between the western and southern coasts. We have an abundance of coral including brain, coponation, staghorn, forganian and sea fans. There is the historic Carlisle Bay Marine Park with its six ship wrecks and tens of thousands of colourful reef fish and turtles. There is loads of information below in the links.

Barbados is one of the few islands in the Caribbean that can provide 365 days of scuba diving each year.

yeah I've heard of Barbados also, maybe in the Bahamas. Possibly the Dominican Republic.

Outside of the Caribbeans, Australia and Hawaii look nice.

Bajan Princess =]
In Barbados i would say that we have some good snorkling adventures. The tourist simply love it here...you must come and see for yourself! =)

The best place to go in the Caribbean is Puerto Rico…

The World's Largest Refletor, Caves, a musical fountain, the only tropical forest in the United States...

If you are a US citizen, you don't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico.

There are many great snorkeling / scuba spots, I would recommend visiting Akumal or Cozumel because there are very few tourists and the sights are amazing

St. John US Virgin Islands is regularly rated one of the best snorkeling destinations in the world. The beaches are incredible, and they even have an underwater trail at one of the national parks (much of the island is a national park).

I have been to Puerto Rico and although nice, St. John blows it away.
Do a google search for "st john snorkeling" and you'll find all sorts of info.

Good luck!

I really love st. croix.... there is even Buck Island Reef National Monument ..... which is basically a national snorkeling site..... cane bay also has a great wall to dive and you can get to it right from the shore!
