Bora Bora Vs The Caribbean Islands? |
I have an opportunity to fly anywhere in the world for dirt cheap. I was thinking one of the islands in the caribbean or possibly Bora Bora, Tahiti. Any recommendations? I want to go somewhere with awesome beaches and maybe some cool hikes. |

Bora Bora just breath taking beautiful, but so expencive, food, stays, name it, you loose a couple of grands as you blink with eyes, but you'll go home with smille, the best stay Club Med or private hostels uphills, further from the sea less expencive, I have been with locals for two weeks and I am not going back in hotel, when you come in aeroport building you'll easily find someone who is renting a condo or part of the house, food and drinksa re problematic, hot prices.
Carribbean, beautiful Saint Barth, have everything you need and prices are good, the best place in region, second choice Caiman Brac or Bequia, if you like to snorkel and sea is your ocupation that is the place to go.

Bora Bora is the most beautiful island I know of.
The Caribbean is nice, probably easier to get accommodations. And if you are on either island, some hikes are possible.
You want to get a piece of paper, write down what you want to accomplish by your visits--do, see, not do, enjoy, view, visit--and then put those in order. That will tell you which of these places to visit--or maybe somewhere else if the hikes come first that's beautiful also--and comfortable at the time of year you want to go. Consider Greece also.

Bora Bora definately. There is way better culture and it is by FAR safer. The Carribean is nothing more than a tropical detroit. The beaches are nicer in Bora Bora and the people are more respectful. Only down to it, is that it is a LOOOOOONG flight. |
