I speak creole and I am from St lucia. I could understand some of what Haitians speak. Haitians speak more French in their Creole than we do. Dominicans speak the exact creole that we lucians do. |

In case you haven't guessed, it's Mauritian creole. I learned to follow it quite well and this helped me when I went to Haiti.
Edit: I was talking to a Mauritian yesterday and asked him how much of the Haitian creole he heard around him he was able to understand. Astonishingly, he put it at 80%! |
