If you live in the United States, you can't even go to Cuba because the USA doesn't like the fact that Cuba has a dictator, so US citizens are not aloud to go to the Cuban Border :( |

No way. You must have a passport to enter Cuba.
(And an aunt no longer counts as close family following the changes made to the rules a few years ago. So you cannot get a licence under US rules to visit her.) |

No you cannot. And you cannot travel directly to Cuba from the U.S....so if you are a U.S. citizen, you must get a passport. I have heard that people with family in Cuba can get permission to travel there, but I do not know the details...hope another person who does have this info answers you. People who have family living in other countries need to have valid passports at all times for this very reason, but many do not. You can apply for a passport and have it expedited and get it in 3 weeks or less. You will not be allowed on any international flight without a passport. There is one other possibility...if you do get permission to travel to Cuba, you could call the nearest Regional passport agency, make an appointment, go and get your passport the same day. See site below for list of the agencies. |

You wouldn't be able to get back into Mexico and the US without a passport. |

Remember United States citizens are not free to travel to Cuba.
So forget it.
I am sorry. |

You need a passport.
You can get one expedited and receive it in about three weeks. However, you cannot enter Cuba from the United States; you have to go through Canada or Mexico. |

You do need a passport in order to travel to Cuba (or anywhere else for that matter if leaving the country you reside in).
Yes, it is possible to fly to Cuba from Mexico...but again, you would need your passport.
As for visiting family in Cuba, you will need a special travel license issued from the OFAC to get into Cuba. It's not the travel that's illegal from the US...it is that the US has issues with your spending money and buying in Cuba...thus the embargo...no business, no relations.
If you go in person to your passport office and tell them it's an emergency and explain the situation, usually they can put a rush on your passport and make provision for quick travel.
And do the same for your travel license application as well.
When there are emergencies, most people are good with assisting in that nature.
But with high security these days, you really do need your passport, even though Cuba doesn't stamp them.
These are the links you will need in order to get your travels in order and QUICKLY.
I wish you all the best.
*edit: yes, Beardo is correct...you did mention your 'aunt' and she would not be considered immediate family under the OFAC...sorry didn't clue in to what you mentioned family-wise...you'd have to apply for the travel license under something else...or go from Canada or Mexico (but that would travelling 'illegally', although this is done all the time by US citizens...) |

You need a passport!
And if you have a US passport, you can't go to Cuba!
Generally passports can be made in short periods of time if you can provide proof why you need to leave the country. |

It used to be that you could travel to any country sharing a land border with the U.S. with just a birth certificate and another form of ID, but since 9/11 that has changed, so you will definately need a passport just to get into Mexico.
Don't listen to the first person who said that Cuba wont let you in with a U.S. passport. They welcome U.S. Americans, but you will get in trouble with your own country with a Cuban stamp on your passport, so they don't stamp it, they put a slip of paper in it instead (remove this before reentering the States).
Sometimes U.S. customs will question you about where you've been in Mexico, so be sure to come up with a good story.
You can apply for an expidited passport, which will come to you faster. It costs you more money. Don't tell them you're going to Cuba. Tell them you need to go to somewhere innocuous like Ecuador or Panama. |
