Yes my dear! PR is a US territory, therefore the only regular mail service you will find is the United States Postal Service. Hope you are enjoying your time in PR!

"muscles" is my nick n
that is the only stamps you use in puerto rico and the us dollar.

Enrique
Of course... P.R. is part of the U.S.

Yes you can. PR is a commonwealth of the US and we use the same postage system...

the only one to use

The "L" Word
The U.S. runs the U.S. postal system in Puerto Rico. Stamps from the U.S. are valid in Puerto Rico. However contrary to what a replier said, Puerto Rico is not part of the United States (50 states and Puerto Rico is not one of them). The U.S. just has jurisdiction over Puerto Rico's foreign affairs and federal programs.

Regarding the ignorance of many posters here in this forum, here is a paragraph from the official website of Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico:

"The history of the US Army in Puerto Rico dates back to the Spanish-American War. US forces landed here on July 25, 1898 and quickly occupied the island, which under the Treaty of Paris became an unicorporated territory of the United States. Puerto Rico belongs to, but is NOT part of the United States."

Puerto Rico does not elect electors to the electoral college, does not pay federal taxes, doesn't have two senators and many representatives in Congress, etc.. It is NOT part of the United States. Same goes for USVI, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands. The U.S. simply serves as administrator of the federal programs in these commonwealths and territories.

if Luis thinks PR isn't part of the US, he should check what flag flies over that island....from here , twenty y miles away ( the Virgin Islands, which aren't a state but are part of the US as a Territory), it looks like that flag has fifty stars and 13 stripes.....just like the one here, and Guam, and the Marianas and Samoa and the District of Columbia
