Depends on how you plan to travel there. If you are FLYING, you must have a passport. If you are travelling by SEA, a passport is not yet required. Some cruise lines want all passengers to have passports, so, if you are going on a cruise, it is best to call and ask their policy. See site below for current regulations.

The Bahamas are NOT U.S territory. The Bahamas are a foreign country so you do need a passport.

You now need a passport unless you are going on a cruise. Some cruise lines are allowing you to travel with out a passport. If you are cruising, call your cruise line and ask what ID is needed. (passport or birth certificate)Here is a a government website to answer questions regarding flying.

that used to be ok, but you have to have a passport now.

Just get the passport because you are going to need it anyway and, you can't re-enter the U.S. by BOAT or PLANE without a passport.

To fly in and out of the Bahamas - you need a passport. You can apply at most local post offices and get your passport usually within about 3 weeks - they say 8 but it really doesn't take that long.

You need a passport.

Bahamas is US territory. I don't think you need a passport.

U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 19 and older will need to present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate
