Well, no, Caesarion, Americans cannot always go where they WANT to go. Some countries are "closed" and will not grant entry to Americans...liks North Korea. And as for Cuba, those who said you must travel to Cuba from Mexico or Canada are correct. Since the United States does not have formal relations with Cuba, there are no direct flights from the U.S. to Cuba. We took offense when Castro pointed those missiles at us back in 1962...and since he is still in power, we have not re-established diplomatic relations with Cuba since. |

At the moment journalists and those with family in Cuba are the only people allowed to go to Cuba. However, if you fly to another countyr like Mexico or Canada or one of the caribbian islands, you can then take a flight from there to Cuba. Then the reverse on your hoem trip. But an american airport will not fly just anyone to Cuba.
I know this for a fact. Unless something has changed in the last 6 months or so. |

no American airline will fly you to Cuba from the united states. You would have to go through another country.
Also note that if something happens to you in Cuba the U.S. will do nothing or very little to help you to get out of Cuba. |

From what I've heard, the worse way without federal permission is through any airline that will report that you went to the US govt (most likely Canada for US citizens). Mexico (Cancun) is most likely the best way via Air Cubana. They would be the best airline. And all this can be done from Mexico last minite as well. |

American born without no relatives in Cuba due to the emabrgo , no they cant go to Cuba legally.
The only american citizens allowed by the US goverment to go to Cuba EVERY 3 YEARS ONLY are the people born in Cuba nationalized in US with inmediate familly in Cuba and for that you have to request a licence to travel to Cuba where it asks you the ID # of the person you are visitng and his name , address and relation to you.
Take a look at the application on the second link: he first one tells you who and why they can travel to Cuba
But when there is a will there is a way , Canada , mexico , bahamas, jamaica are good places to go and take another flight to havana city via Cubana de Aviacion |

Your answer is Yes. My question is; What have you lost in Cuba? May be you are getting ready to do something unlawful or have already done something and need some where to hide. If not find some place other than Cuba to go to. |

Yes, of course. Americans can go anywhere they want to go.
So if we can't go to Cuba directly out of America, that means we can't go? I answered the question - we can go. And yes, some countries do not want us in, but my point is that the American government isn't going to prevent us from going anywhere. |
