I've stayed at both Riu Negril and Riu Ocho Rios, and would highly recommend them both.

Try Franklyn D resort or fdr as we call it. They are really good. You get a nanny for your children included in the price. So if you wanted you could have some romance. There are two locations one near ocho rios and one in trelawny.

I've been to Sandals Whitehouse 2x in past year, it's the newest one in Jamaica. I love it and will return again and again. The first time my daughter got married and her brother and grooms brother got a room together (both adults), and my travel agent said they don't ask, people do it all the time, especially at weddings when people who can come are limited.
I went back 9 months later and got married myself, and my husbands 2 adult children got a room. But definitely no children, if there are children involved I would recommend Beaches in Negril, a family oriented place owned by Sandals. It looks wonderful, we want to take my grandkids there in a few years.
You would have a ball here at Sandals, food is wonderful, all water activities included, great martini bar, beautiful beaches and wonderful staff and service, oh you are making me want to go soon! They also will help with renewing the vows if that's what they want to do, very romantic setting. Enjoy!

Beaches Negril gets good reviews on TripAdvisor.

I adore Negril, so I highly suggest staying in that area for sure. The beaches and sunsets are to die for!

Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril are next door to each other. They share privileges. Those who would like to enjoy adults-only could go to Sandals and those with kids could stay at Beaches. It's only a short walk but perhaps it might be too much for "Mom & Dad". Sandals wouldn't want kids running around so Sandals would have to visit Beaches not vice-versa. (does that make sense?) It's a wonderful place, wherever you go, it's paradise. Check out trip adviser.com it has lots of info. Have a great time planning your trip!

When my wife and I wanted to take out daughter with us to Sandals, we were told that Sandals is a couples only resort. No children and no same sex couples

starfish in Trelawny, RIU, Sandals mobay or Ocho Rios, or Pebbles resort if you have kids the nanny at pebbles will take care of them and you can have all the fun without having to be fretting over them. the nannies are great, some even get hired by tourists as their personal nanny because when it was time to go the kids were crying and didn't want to leave their nanny.
