First of all, Puerto Rico does not have a president, it has a governor called Anibal Acevedo Vilá. He belongs to the Popular Democratic Party and won in 2000 with 3,000 votes more than Dr. Pedro Roselló from the New Progressive Party. Puerto Rico is very well known for the tipical "bacalaíto" which is a mixture of cod fish with wheat flour and fried. Also we do the great rice and beans, roasted pork in "varita" cooked in natural charcoal. Also, we love "alcapurrías" done with casaba mix with seafood inside. And since we are an island, I can assure you, we have the freshest and nicest seafood around like live lobsters and fish.

(Puerto Rico is a US Territory and all puerto ricans are US Citizens)

The governor is Aníbal Acevedo-Vilá

Famous Puerto Rican foods: Alcapurrias, Pasteles, Arroz con gandules, Mondongo, Mofongo, Platanos en escabeche, Carrucho, Arroz con habichuelas, Tostones, Amarillos fritos, Arroz con pollo. (Google them for recipies and more information)

Famous Puerto Rican products: Rum (Bacardi, Don Q) and lots of Major League Baseball players!

Hope this helps.

Puerto Rico does not have a president. It is a common wealth. Puerto Rico's typical food are: rice and beans, alcapurias, pateles, mofongo and Bacardi.

Puerto Rico is a very nice, however strange island for those not familiar with it. Our Constitution establishes our political relation to the USA as "Commonwealth". We do not have a president, but a governor. At this time, his name is Honorable Aníbal Acevedo Vilá. We are famous for our "comida criolla", which is a combination of african, spanish and cuban cuisines. In Christmas, we stand out with our "lechón asao" (carbon cooked, whole pork), "pasteles" (I do not have a translation for it) y arroz con gandules (yellow rice and chick peas). Most popular fruits are mangoes, oranges and pineapples. There is a rare and delicious beverage called "maví" made from a root and which origins are traced to the original natives of the island, "taínos". Rather than searching on goggle, try wikipedia or visit www.puertoricowow.com.
