Your parents are very worried FOR you...not necessarily about you and that they don't trust you. It's because, as a 16 year old, travelling alone is not safe. Especially if you're wanting to party and have a good time. There are unsafe situations and crazy things happening everywhere all the time. And people looking for trouble can easily spot some inexperienced in different areas of life...and you as a young person will be an easy target.

Don't be angry at your parents. I know at the time it feels very unfair and that they don't care. But believe me...and I speak for everyone who has answered so far, they only want to protect you and keep you safe. Going alone is not a good idea...it's very unsafe. Your parents love you and they know what's going on out there. They've lived it and know what people are like...and as GOOD parents who care, they will be protective this way and they're right for doing so.

I respect your parents for feeling that way. I don't respect parents who think that letting their kids do whatever they want without setting boundaries is very loving. Everyone pays for it at some point.
Don't defy your parents and don't go on your own --- ESPECIALLY behind your parents' backs and go to the airport without them knowing what you're doing. They will become sick with fright and panic. It will only make it worse for you in the longrun and it will take longer for them to trust you and see that you can grow maturely.

Think this through objectively and don't let your emotions get in the way of clear thinking....and don't let your 'friends' influence you either.

I know it seems like an eternity, but you will be 18 pretty soon and can go... Your parents are responsible for you until then and there's not much you can do about it.

YOUR PARENTS HAVE YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT HEART, PLEASE DON'T TRAVEL ALONE. YOU ARE TOO YOUNG AND VULNERABLE. WE ALL ARE. I HAVE KIDS THAT ARE ADULTS AND I STILL WORRY ABOUT THEM EVERYDAY, ALL DAY. LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS THIS TIME.

No You can't..You will need and authorization from Your parents to travel ..the airline is going to request that before you board...

With all the predators out there looking for someone like you, if you go out on your own, you will become an easy target for a predator. This happens all time, and in a foreign country you will defenseless.
