You definately can. Be careful to ask about insurance for the vehicle you are driving though. Some jamaican insurance companies wont provide the same coverage for a non-jamaican license. Although your US auto insurance might typically cover you driving other people's vehicles and rentals, it may not cover you for international driving.

Yes you can, every time i go i rent my car from the airport, and drive myself around...but mek sure that you know where you going....one wrong turn and yuh frig yuhself...good luck!

boy_jam_arch

Yes, but make sure you make a copy and keep the copy in your hotel....that'll save ALOT of hassle should it be lost or stolen....goes for your passport too.

Sure. Just remember you are to drive on the left side of the road and not the right.

i would not advise you to drive at all.... just cause of the hwole heap of **** with the police etc!! and worst you arent accostumed to it.. if u get a "ticket" sigh.. i just dont think its a good idea.. they may rip u off.. :(

anyway yes you can use it. please over look all prcautions before u come here. for your safety.. cause too many giddy headed tourists come hear and far prey because of that. explore wisely ok.. not to scare u cause its not bad at all if u have sense. if u have no sense.. it can get pretty bad

loveeeeeyou.!
yes, you can. i would not recommend it though, people are crazy drivers. seriously, you have 1 lane and 3 people squeeze into it beside you- there are really no rules there so the driving can get intense and lots of accidents, but if you are prepared and have been to places where the driving is as intense you'll be okay.

p.s the roads and drivers side are opposite and everything is in kilometres not miles

You can use your us drivers license to drive in Jamaica. I went to Jamaica several years ago and it was great! I did not drive though, I took public transportation - mainly because I was at a resort and where I needed to go wasn't very far.

The driving there is kind of crazy and if you've never been to Jamaica, be prepared for left side driving. Yes, they drive on the opposite side of the street. Also, don't be afraid of the animals just roaming the street (cows, etc.) - pretty wild.

Have a great time when you go!
