If the government steps to the plate and continues to work hard to aid the country from poverty and violence and reforms education and public health, then we might be well on our way... |

Someone here said that president Leonel Fernández started the health plan, known as "Seguro Familiar de Salud". Now: This would not be possible if the Dominican Revolutionary Party didn't pass the law back in the 2000-2004 period, where the Social Security was legally created.
President Fernández is perceived by most of the population as the most corrupt government in the Dominican history, yet the irony is that too much Dominicans still support him. I would say that the Dominicans are suicidal and masochists.
President Fernández has also created grave problems with the drugstores in the country with the application of the new health system, since a lot of drugstores have been excluded from it. Let's not forget the thousands of unemployed that this government created, as well as saying that the free zones where already an obsolete system, and now they are trying to rescue said field because they, appearently, see it as one of the great columns of the Dominican economy. Why didn't they see it in first place? Ignorance.
No. The Dominican Republic will not achieve the First World status by 2030 with presidents such as this one, who practices blatant clientelism and kleptocracy, with absolutely no morals or ethics. Let's not forget the dirty and abhorrable practice of buying people from other parties. These despicable acts makes him an authentic rapist of the ideals of Juan Pablo Duarte, founding father of the Dominican Republic. |

i'm sure if the americans give them free money it should be no problem and everyone knows that americans are rich and can afford to keep doing this . lol.
let's just go build them some infrastructure and things. |

Yes if you keep getting economist presidents like Lionel Fernandez .the rich are going to have to pay taxes do to the poverty and get used to it and thats that. Watch the movie Sicko and it willl explain why Fernandez initiated the health plan he did. its a good thing.Hopefully American will have to catch up with the Dr in Health Care and good employment soon (which is 1 issue in the Dr).
I see you point my brother at the bottom and I dont doubt your word. I view politicains as all currupt do you look at the good that they do, do. Look at Clinton messed up the economy of the caribean, taking money from chaquita to block caribean famers exports to the EU for chiquita. He was still a good prez in the USA , there was a job surplus, pell grants for college when I when I went (which bush took made students pay for now), and ended with a budget surplus. He still took that money form chiquita and was involved with real estate scams. Can you imagine what all the presidents have done. politics are dirty its did they bring the country up or down in the long run to be honest it is to early to tell. you are right though
I observe from here and I give you that respect cause you there.I m on your side by being optomistic one day I am going to retire and repatriate . you feel me? I agree that we disagree. We are ont he sam esid ethough. Soy anti-imperialistico como usted, si el es una imperialistico...yo no se, yo vivo aqui. |
