So my friend thinks we will have more fun in Cancun, b/c we are going on an all inclusive vacation and the travel agent said the party spots are better in Cancun...

Me too been in both places.. I will said if you looking for a fun party place in the Dominican Rep I recoment Punta Cana instead of Puerto Plata..

I have been to both places.
Cancun is definately more for partying - they have more bars and clubs. Also, I found the places in Cancun cleaner and safer.
Puerto Plata is nice, but must less developed than Cancun. I feel it is more of a relaxation place...

Punta Cana 100 %. Our people are happy, friendly, genuine, hospitable and the list can go on and on. The island is surrounded by water and we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Cristal clear warm water, white fine sand. AHHH! it makes me want to book a flight right now.

Personally I think you'll enjoy the DR over Mexico. Don't get me wrong...Mexico is great and it`s beautiful. But it`ll be different in the DR. It would be less commercialized and you will still have so much fun there. That can be more fun than anything else.
You`ll find `Carlos and Charlies` everywhere in Mexico. May not be any different from going anywhere else to party.
But that`s just my personal opinion. |

I've been to Puerto Plata and it was ok, but not that fun. I would try Cancun. I know a few people who have been there and love it. One of my friends goes every year. Also airline tickets to Mexico are cheaper than tickets to DR. |
