June is the "off" season in this part of the world, so cruise ships tend to reposition and sail elsewhere. When people think of the Caribbean, they tend to think of islands, but may I suggest Belize, which is a wonderful destination with a great many interesting things to see. Just an example of what is on offer can be seen here: http://www.responsibletravel.com/Trip/Trip100705.htm.
Otherwise, if you have it in mind to book a resort holiday, there are so many choices: Jamaica, Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia or even the Turks and Caicos, which last year were voted as having the best beaches inthe world. |

I am from the Bahamas. I think that it is the ideal place to go for a romantic holiday. |

I would go for Aruba or Curacao (Dutch Antilles) Both places are beautiful but you need to go from December to February. we have been to a number of the islands but these two were outstanding. |

Cayo Coco in Cuba is beautiful, totally chilled out and relaxing, very little to do apart from sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and water sports, you can go to different beaches on a catamaran and snorkel which is beautiful, we went away stressed and came back chilled out, amazing place with beautiful long white sandy beaches and bathtub warm ocean, great for your parents too as its not full of teenagers and loud music. |

I have not long gotten back from the starfish trelawney, falmouth, jamaica. It was a fantastic hotel with lovely staff ,full of couples. It is inexpensive compared to other hotels but still provides great service. Lots of restaurants and bars. own disco, and plenty of actiivities round the main pool (it has 4). Hope this helps. |

I agree with RBethel.
I have been to the Bahamas three times it is the best. It is one of the safest places, the people are the best
If I win that lotto I will be moving. |

Avoid the Caribbean. Send them to the Indian Ocean instead (Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles) it's a million times better. |

How about a Caribbean cruise? So many cruise companies operate in the region. Your parents will have numerous opportunities for relaxation and sightseeing. Modern cruise ships are like floating hotels. They will also have the benefit of visiting several destinations.
Just do a general search on the Internet. Also try talking to your local travel agent for advice. I've travelled widely throughout the world, and the Caribbean is one place I want to go back to. |

I think the Virgin Islands would be great because they can enjoy all three islands in one trip. St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John. |

I would say Aruba or Nassau. Check out the RIU properties, they are very nice.

(The new RIU in Aruba won't be open until July )
They have a very nice Marriott Hotel in Aruba too.. |

I think the best way to see the Caribbean is by cruise. On a weeks cruise you should be able to see 3 or 4 islands and a cruise ship is really easy - you can do as much or as little as you want. |

The Dominican Republic is very nice. We went to Bavarro. It was 'all-in' cos theres not many nearby places to go to on your own. And I wouldnt like to go most places alone - I dont think the public transport is very good round there. There are some good day trips out, boogie boarding, sightseeing, and so on.Food is pretty good as well. The only thing is everyone tries to sell you stuff. So beware! |
