Tobago, which is one half of the twin island nation of Trinidad & Tobago. It is so beautiful! Great beaches, awesome diving and snorkeling, shopping in interesting little shops, nice restaurants, and it is affordable. The only down side is it can be difficult to get to because Carribean Airlines (formerly Beewee a.k.a. British West Indies Airlines) cut out a lot of their flights. Still, IMO it is worth the extra effort to get there. |

I went from the U.S.A about 25 years ago to the Bay Islands of Honduras and have been there ever since. I guess I like it if I stayed here that long. Most people are bi-lingual, English/Spanish, And there is good diving here. Backpackers seem to go to the Island of Utila as it is the least expensive of these islands. I won't bore you with more info. If You would like more info just contact me and I'll try to answer your questions. |

Pick up a copy of Fodor's Caribbean and read about the islands... it takes a while but the effort is worth it and will keep you from making mistakes on your vacation |

Barbados, and yes. It may be expensive nationwide, but there are some things cheap. Gotta be smart with budgetting and what you buy, then you're set. I'm currently in that country since 30th of March 'til April 25th, but because I'm staying at my boyfriend's house at no charge, so of course, it makes things easier for me.
You should check Pegwell Inn Guest House for cheapest accommodation if interested in going there -- across the street has plaza, ranging from shoes to supermarket to bank to stationaries.
Barbados offers great nightlife, too! Check Club Xtreme, St. Lawrence Gap (there are The Ship Inn, Harbour Lights, etc), has friendly people as well. :) |

St. John is fabulous. St. Thomas is busier and more commercial but there's alot to do and see there. Too much crime in St. Croix.
If you can afford it, the best way to see the islands is to rent a boat and see them all! British Islands are fun/easy to hop around on. |

I am a huge fan of Bonaire. My family and I love it so much that we bought property there and are building a house. We are scuba divers and Bonaire is diver's paradise. It is quiet and peaceful with great places to eat and friendly people. It is a very relaxed vacation whenever I go. I also enjoy Bonaire's neighbor Curacao. It has a little bit more of a nightlife than Bonaire and a little bit more to do, but is still not very touristy. If you want that buys, touristy atmosphere then I am not the right person to ask. I like to relax on vacation, not be caught up in crowds. |
