Caribbean...What's the best place to go under what I want? |
I want to go to the caribbean, but there is sooo many places to choose from I can't make up my mind. I want to go to a place where there is beautiful white, soft sand beaches and crystal clear water, good snorkeling, fun stuff to do besides being in the water all the time, like going to waterfalls, jungle stuff...etc. It isnt a must, but i would like it to be somewhat exclusive. I dont want to go to a beach that is completely packed. We were thinking Jamaica, but it seems crowded and not too sure? Please do not list a place just because it is expensive, like bora bora. I have heard they have nice beaches, but there is nothing else to really do besides sit on the beach (which is good, but...not the only thing i want to do). Also we are not partiers, so I do not care about clubs or things like that. In fact, i would like to stay away. If you have experience please help. |

Puerto Rico, has many things you are looking for and it, USA. There are a lot of nice beaches, rain forest ,clubs, malls, museums, all over the Island and the driving distance are short on highway . Not so expensive and very nice hotels and guest houses. Check out the Northwest of the island Rincon is a great spot , Aguadilla also. |

Dominica has been called the Diving & Whale Watching Capital of the Caribbean and is one of the top 5 diving destinations is the world. The island is full of things for nature lovers to do included waterfalls, the world's largest Boiling Lake, beaches (though there arent many white sand beaches), hiking, and the Aerial Tram Adventure.
The island is not typical caribbean, it is not overrun with tourists and nightlife is very suttle not too many clubs.
It is not too expensive and good packages can be put together that included diving and snorkling and other excursions on the island with accomodations.
Check out the following hotels....Fort Young Hotel, Anchorage Hotel and Castle Comfort Lodge...they all have dive packages |

When u say u want beautiful white soft sand beaches.. i know Curacao would be the best country for u. It's the most beatiful island in the caribbean and is part of the netherlands. They speak spanish, english, dutch and papiamentu ( local language).
I was only born there and i go back there every 2 years just to swim!!!

I suggest Bequia (you can hop a ferry to St. Vincent to do volcano hikes and other eco-tours...take Fantasea Tours speedboat tour for snorkeling..go to Mustique with Fantasea or Tobago Cays for great snorkling and good day trip. Bequia has nice beaches and is quiet..Kinda of a pain to get to but worth it.
Also, Jamaica isn't really that crowded. Treasure Beach is really not crowded and you access tours from there, but no great snorkling right there. |
