What is the best possibility to travel from island to island on Caribbean? Are the flights more expensive then ferries? Can You recommend some ferry lines?

There aren't really many ferry services in the Caribbean and definitely not any that allow a significant amount of island hopping so you're kinda stuck with flying. Unless you only want to visit one or two islands

I have used Express des Iles to travel between St Lucia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominica (not in hurricane season) and La Marie Galante. I found it more fun than travelling by air. You can travel economically by making only two stops on a return journey from St Lucia. Here is the home page. http://www.express-des-iles.com/ As you will see, they sometimes put on extra boat trips to visit other islands, such as Antigua.

Hey there are a few ferry options in the caribbean which are definitely cheaper than flights but some flights are quite inexpensive too. I am from Puerto Rico so I can tell you that there are ferries on the east coast of the island(Fajardo) that take you to the small islands of Vieques & Culebra & then there is a ferry that goes to St Thomas, USVI. From St Thomas there are ferries that will take you to the rest of the USVI & to the British Virgin Islands as well. Also from the west coast of PR there is a ferry that goes to the Dominican Republic, this one takes quite long however. I also believe the Bahamas have a ferry system between their islands. Here are some links that can help you:

There are a couple of inter island airlines. Check out www.flyoceanwings.com and www.svgair.com. YOu can also look up Spirit Airlines.

There is another, new service... Inter Island Trading...no web site yet but youcan e-mail them at iitrading@vincysurf.com this is brand new and a start up.. it's a charming combination freight and passenger service and I don't know any more about it right now.

There aren't many ferries in the caribbean except between sister isalnds like Antigua and Barbuda. or St. Kitts and Nevis or Trinidad and Tobago. Those are usually much cheaper than flying form island to island. But from like Antigua to Barbados you will have to fly.

Highly Favoured
You best bet is to go on a Caribbean cruise that will visit many islands. try the Sea Princess for their 14-day Southern Caribbean cruise. There are not much ferry services that would take you to much. The most that you will be able to visit is 1 or 2 depending. If you go to St. Maarten you can go over the French side and go to Anguilla. If you go to Tortola you can go to Virgin Gorda. The flights are too expensive that is why more people are cruising than flying plus the restrictions on the amount of luggage.
