I assume you mean March of next year for your cruise and that's a great time for two reasons. First, cruise lines give the best prices for early bookings that are about a year or more in advance. So if you start searching now you'll likely find great prices for a cruise next year.
Second, any time outside of the hurricane season in the Caribbean, June through November, is a great time to cruise there. I have cruised the Caribbean in January through April and the weather is always great for the beach and water sports. In fact, in March its not quite as hot and humid as later in the summer. So March is a great time in terms of weather and temperatures.
Finally, cruise ships do the Caribbean year around so there is no off season. So you can do in March whatever you could do in any other month. |

It's always a good time in the Caribbean; sometimes the ship has to dodge hurricanes, but March is before the season. That's the time I like to go. It is after Spring Break, but before the real humidity sets in.
Keep in mind that some of the islands are a real tourist trap (Grenada comes to mind - however, buy the spice samplers; you'll get some saffron that would cost you 10X as much stateside). |

Last time I was in the Caribbean it was at the beginning of March for my daughter's wedding on St. Thomas on the 7th March.
The weather was glorious but by the middle of March it was starting to get a little too hot for this Brit who isn't accustomed to it. I reckon that by mid-April it would be too hot for me.
I'm only comfortable within a small temperature range. |

Some things to consider:
Is it a back-to-back cruise [returns to the departure port after seven days then departs again]? Or is it a straight 14-day cruise? The latter would tend to have an older crowd, the former may be full of kids on spring break or Easter break [depending on the school system, when Easter is, etc].
Other than the possibility of "crowds" of kids, it would be a good time to go. |
