Caribbean vacation spot?

My fiance and I are getting married next October, and we are considering honeymooning in the Caribbean. My question is simple: Where should we go? All of the websites I've looked at tell you that "this island/this hotel is the best." Clearly, they can't all be the best. Which is the most cost efficient vacation spot? I don't mind paying a higher price if the location is worth the money, but I certainly don't want to be wasting money. We would like to snorkel/scuba and have nice beaches (I'm sure they all are nice...) and possibly have some oceanic wildlife around the area we could check out.

Also, we are probably going the "all-inclusive" route, so if you can recommend a hotel/resort, that would be great!

Thanks!

well Barbados is a great island to come to. There is wonderful scenery and beautiful beach spots. The beaches that u will like are Dover beach and miami beach and even Accra beach. It is cost effient and they are many all inclusive hotels such as The crane hotel, Accra hotel and the savvanah hotel. The snorkling here is a very big tourist attraction you get to snorkel and dive with the turtles. And yes you can also get to scuba dive, there is even a submarine that you can go in and get to look at all the wonderful sea life at the bottom of the boat.
It is really Great in Barbados come and see for yoursel! =)

I got married in October and my husband and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon. It was really, really nice. The weather was great and so were the beaches. You can go for several different boat rides which take you to a place to snorkel. We also rented a Jeep and toured the island. Can't remember the hotel's name, but it had lots of pools.

Have fun wherever you go.

I personally prefer Jamaica but definitely at a different time of year. Before August to be safe. You alot working against you in October that's the height of hurricane season you may deal with rain, wind, boarded up resorts, choppy waters that will hinder any water excursions. But if you must due October for a honeymoon stay where it is adults only so you can do what you want.Honeymoon I personally recommend on of the Hedonism Resorts it's 2 to chose from. Now these resorts are older they do offer all the posh things(massages and manicures)but you rarely see it happen because everyone is having so much fun with theme nights(toga, fetish, pirates, pimps &hoe's)and many more. Each room has a huge roman tube, you will have a big mirror above you bed,the huge is more than spacious. You have your choice of nude or prude on the resort and the food and drinks never end.www.hedonismresorts.com

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEDDING!!! Now lets get to the fun places!

The three places I like the best personally are,
Jamaica = great atmosphere, BEAUTIFUL BEACHES and ALL-INCLUSIVE resorts!!!
St. Thomas = Gorgeous Beaches, check for ALL-INCLUSIVE not sure!
Aruba = ALL-INCLUSIVE, beautiful beaches, Gorgeous sunsets, Romantic, and depending where you stay SECLUSION!!!

Personally I would go back to Jamaica in a HEARTBEAT! The people are SO friendly, the food is great, and just that Jamaican vibe gets into you skin and it seems so peaceful!!!

Good Luck on your Honeymoon and HAVE FUN!!!

There are two items that make the Caribbean a nice place to visit. They are the water and the people.

If you want to visit unique cultures with very friendly people, go to the islands. Be aware, however, that the water is NOT that clear over at the islands.

If you want crystal clear water then go to the Caribbean from the Yucatan and south along the coast. Mexico is safest. I heard horror stories about Belize. The Brittish soldiers are worse than the rebels.

Cozumel, Mexico, was very cool twenty years ago. Just like every other cool place, however, massive hotel chains have spoiled the natural beauty of it. The water is fantastic though. Better than anywhere.

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is very nice. It is an all inclusive resort and the beaches there are very pretty and clear. The best part is that its not very expensive. I've been there and loved it because there's so much to do there. I hope this helps.

I love the Caribbean and want to visit every island nation before I die. 14 down many more to go. However, I will never go there between June and November. It is Hurricane season. Not worth it.
