Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has some really good snorkelling and diving facilities, although you can't get there direct on a plane. you have to take an island hopper. But then is one reason it is so good.
St Lucia, Barbados, Jamaica, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago have international airports and are reported to be really good.
All the above are 'English' islands, and provided you can understand the local accents, are easy to get around if you speak English.
They are all good to relax on. |

Curacao offers great snorkling sites, and most of them are accesible right from the beaches. Relaxing is also possible, and with the relaxing enviroment of the westerm side of the island, it is pretty easy to find good relaxed areas. Beginning of march is also the end of the Carnival season, so there might be a chance to catch the Curacao Carnival as well.

I spent some time in Barbados a few years ago. like all carabbean islands it is nice sunny and warm, but expensive.
Snorkelling is ok and relaxing is great.
For the rest it depends of the language you speak, french carabbean might be harder for you to get sunk in.
I have no experience of cruises, one friend did one and really enjoyed it.
Enjoy your trip |

Off the coast of Belize (Central America) you can find the 2nd largest coral reef in the world. The coast of Belize is dotted with many little islands. .......very relaxing. The mainland of Belize has a diverse population, jamming music, good food, cheap accomodations and Mayan ruins. My son and I had a blast! We never cruise because we like to spend time with the locals. |

The island of Dominica not to be mistaken for the spanish speaking island Of Dominican republic is the best.I am born & live here.
The english speaking island of Dominica is situated inbetween the 2 french islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Its best because it was awarded by Readers Choice magazine 2007 as the 2nd best Destination Overall in the atlantic for snorkelling and Scuba diving getting 2 getting 2 First place prizes.
The island is also branded as the whale watching Capital of the Caribbean...excellent for not only whale watching but also dolphin watching.
The island was rated as the 4th most peaceful place in teh world so when it comes to relaxation that could be good.
There is the famous Jungle bay resort and spa which is really without exagerataing nestled in the forest.Away from it all near a beach --perfect for realxation.
The websites provided below will provide u with the accomadation i have already mentioned and muchmore |

I've done both...cruise and stay a week on a Caribbean island and in my opinion, a cruise is a lot more fun. Bring your own snorkel equipment, get off the ship and head to a taxi. The driver will know the best beaches to bring you...you just tell him what you're looking for..."secluded...snorkeling...bars on the beach..." and give him a time to pick you up. He'll be there.
If you're in your twenties or thirties even, without kids, go Carnival. If not, try a cruise that leaves San Juan so you don't have too many days at sea and you go to better islands. Norweigian...you won't have to dress up every night for dinner or have to be at dinner at a certain time. If you do get a cruise with a dinner time, opt for the late dinner so you won't have to get off the island by three/four-ish to make the early dinner time.
I've been on a few cruises and think they're all about the same, food wise, nice...but Carnival has more to do on board ... pool games and such.
All the islands in the Caribbean are nice, and the further south you go (not west) the nicer they are too, therefore, I think the snorkeling is better too.
As for an all-inclusive...you're pretty much stuck right there for the whole week and the drinks were watered down, plus it felt like you ate the same meals each night too. Got boring.
Try this site: iBtraveling.com to compare cruise or all inclusive prices...it's where I find my travel deals.
Wish you the best with whatever you choose. |

The island of tranquil Tobago, whose famous "Buccoo Reef" was visited by Jacques Cousteau, French Oceanographer and Explorer. He rated Tobago's Buccoo Reef as the number three spectacular sight to behold in the world.
8 Days is a short time. You don't want to spend it stoke on a expensive cruise-ship with little time to spend on the reef. I was there, I stayed 2 weeks and I couldn't get enough.
Hope this help Good luck. |
