What is the purpose of this question, may I ask ?
Besides, what for ?
Many people have tried the other direction, but on a raft. As beardo says, there are many sharks
What beardo forgot to mention is that, besides all that, if the Cuban State Security grabs you trying to escape they may sink you, raft and all, or in the best case, throw you in the tank for who knows how long
Oh, dear beardo, thanks for giving an answer.
You know, quite a coincidence. I know a couple of dozen people who were caught trying to escape and in one case, the Cuban State Security sprayed them with drops of lead.
They were lucky nobody was hurt, but they received free hospitality in villa Marista for a long while.
A friend of mine tried to escape with some friends and he also received hospitality in villa Marista
He told me that they had no room service and the food was of very poor quality. No air conditioning either
I know some others as well |

Do you really believe that if that were possible, would be somebody in cuba, besides the evil brothers ? |

I personally could not but someone could. In fact a woman very recently swam the Atlantic. I would imagine she didn't do it all at once though.
Here's a link to the atlantic thing http://www.newser.com/story/50216/us-woman-first-to-swim-atlantic.html
And it looks like someone has swum to Cuba http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9705/12/australian.swimmer/ |

You could make it... but you would have to be a good swimmer.
The average person would probably fail at that attempt. |

Yes, that's how my lawn care worker made it here. ;)
Oh come on...that's not racist! How can it be racist if it's the truth? Except he was going the other way. Dunno why you want to go to Cuba(I secretly wanna go, it's beautiful), send me a postcard! |

No. A person would become too easily dehydrated. The salt water would suck out all of the water in your body. Also, that's a really long distance to be swimming. |

It 90 miles, shark-infested, and can be rough water.
Even if you could physically manage the swim, there are other dangers.
If the US coastguard find Cubans in the water, they send them back to Cuba.
PS the big - I know several people who have tried to leave in boats or rafts and were caught and returned - none of them suffered any direct punishment. |

Yes. but it would be faster to drive. ...LOL
Seriously....
It has already been done.

The woman who claimed to have swam the Atlantic turned out to be a fraud.
