That comes to $100,000. The place is quite expensive these days. Last time I was home was back in '89. I don't travel there as often as the rest of the family. Look into the real estate, buy a nice home and find a decent job and you'll live comfortable. Good luck.

Well, when you take 50,000 dollars to Belize it doubles. So you'll actually have 100,000 dollars. Belize is a very expensive place to live. I think if you invest in a business such as tourism you'll be o.k.
But to just live there and not work or anything for 20 years, I don't think so. My fiance is Belizean and we travel there to visit his family every year. I know how expensive it is to live there.

If you take that amount and invest it in a business and work at same for 20 years, yes you can. If you're talking about actually living comfortably while sitting on your butt for 20 years on no more than $50,000, you're dreaming. It might be possible if you're willing to live in a beach shack with minimum outlay for food and drink, but by the end of 20 years you're going to be awfully tired of it.
