Could you list some darn good jerk dinning places in Negrill close to Beaches Resort.?

I am a native Jamaican but have lived away in Ca. I would like to know some places to visit to have some native food forexample:the real jerk chicken, pork curry goat and so on. The resort I find never make the real deal. Please list some dinning places close by to visit. I am talking about like the jerk Pit. Is there one in Negrill?

Ossie's is known for their jerk pork.. I love Best in the West, across from Coco La Palm, for jerk chicken. Many love Bourbon beach for their jerk as well.. Go to www.negrilinfo.com and go to the new Negril map. It will show the location for all. There are so many great dining establishments along the beach for all of the above. 3 Dives is really good, I love their granny sauce. I don't eat a lot of goat so I can't comment on that.
Good Luck

There is a place down from The Rockhouse on the cliffs of Negril...called Three Dives....man that is the best...and the locals go there. They were filming for a segement of that reality show where pairs go running around the world. I have been to Jamaica twice and stayed in three places and Three Dives is the best - once we found it - we had every meal there.

Mr. Jamaica
I personally like "Serious Chicken" in the west end, by the lighthouse.

This guy started off as a roadside vendor but due to the popularity of his chicken he now runs a restaurant!

One of the best place, (well last time I was home) Boston in Portland, real jerk pit. Its at the border St. Thoomas and Portland. In Ocho Rios you should be able to find some good jerk pit. The hotels normally have the 'gormet' stuff. Catering for the foriegn palate (less spicy). Let me know if you find any good one or if these help, will be there inna cople weeks.

I agree with Smartie, Three Dives is the best place to find some good food in Negril. It was right by where we stayed while on our honeymoon and we ate at least one meal a day there. They have amazing jerk sauce, we even had them bottle it up so we could bring some home. The brown stew fish is good and so is the curry lobster. Everything is served with callaloo and rice and peas. Just thinking about their food makes me want to go back to Negril.

Literally down the road from beaches on the negril strip is a place called "riddim & jerk". I live in jamaica (kingston) and my friends and i spent a week in negril last year & i dont know how i did it, but i ate strictly riddim & jerk food for the entire week because the food was that good & its not like im not used to jerk chicken. Its soooo close to beaches.

Try the restaurant section of yahoo. I used that many years ago, and I did find what I was looking for.

Hope this helps.

I don't remember the name of the "dive", but it is near the sands in Negril, not far from beaches although you will have to have transportation. Ask the bus driver or the hotel personnel. Our bus driver on the way to the sands told us that it was the BEST place to get jerk chicken!
