Cruise stop in Belize, what do do?

Any suggestions on what to do at the stop besides what is listed in the cruise brochure? A family of three teens and two adults, what do you think we'd enjoy?

If you'll be near Ambergris Caye, I suggest snorkeling at the Hol Chan marine reserve (http://www.holchanbelize.org/). It gets pretty busy, but you'll be able to swim with rays and nurse sharks. Stay away from Belize City...there's nothing there.

If you're feeling adventurous and have a full day or two, you could try booking an adventure with Caves Branch (http://www.cavesbranch.com/) or even a trip to Tikal in Gautemala to see the Mayan ruins. Both are very worthwhile.

You could try horseback riding in the jungle. Banana Bank Lodge is the top horseback riding location in Belize.

We loved tubing through the limestone caves. We had 22 year olds through 17 and the parents.

Shop for souveniers and items that are indigenous to Belize.

Ambergris Caye is great, it just like any other tropical island around there, so if your cruiseing it might not be too different. Plus, if your not into snorkeling, and takeing a boat or plane to get there, it might not be a great choice. LOTs of fresh seafood though.

The Mayan ruins are your best bet (on the mainland). Jungle tours are also available. One of them, I really wanted to do, but didn't when I was there. It was a tubing trip through a cave system. Plus these Belieze Zoo is fairly famous.

Well when arrive with Cruise ships, there is only limited amount of time you have on land, or limited time to spend in one port. For Belize, there is many choices, what is on the cruise brochures you can also wait until you get off from the boat to the cruise terminal, there is many options as per trips, generally they will be cheaper than on the cruise ship advertises. Cave Tubing, is a good place, Zoo is nice also. Maya ruins is a good destination, and if you like to do diving, there is also options as such. There is lots to do, so if you can try to get off on the earliest schedule so that it will be more time for you and also more choices you can have as for looking for packages. There is a new destination of Zip line, so check on that also! Enjoy yoru trip to Belize, you will love it!
