Yes, Cuba is an AMAZING choice! Especially for a honeymoon. I've personally been to Cuba and you will not go wrong. Cayo Coco is beautiful and is nice for a honeymoon. I know others that have gone for their honeymoon and LOVED it.
There is nothing like it. You can also travel to Havana from there and go into the nearby town. It's a little secluded (which makes it perfect for a honeymoon) but you're not isolated. There is a lot to do and you can also choose to relax.

But anywhere in Cuba will be a wonderful experience. Just make sure that you book a hotel no less than a 4*.

I recommend Hotel Tryp Cayo Coco.

yeah, very good choice!
I love Cuba, been there twice already and plan to go next year again.
Travel al around and stay a couple of days in Havanna.
Eat lobster for 10 $ as much as you can eat, smoke a Havanna (hand made/rolled) and drink some rum!
Cuban people are very very friendly and kind!
nice beaches, white sand and cool drinks!

don't believe that nonsens about the military US base, thats CIA propaganda...yes Anna J its unsafe in Guantanamo Bay because the US has made it f..uckt up place.

Yes and yes!The people are some of the friendliest people around (just don't buy the Cigars off street sellers, they are DODGY).Security wise, due to the regime there are always Police on the street, both plain clothed and uniformed. The crime rate is very low as to hardly rate a mention, everything is quite inexpensive (esp outside of the resorts) the scenary around Varadero gorgeous...recommend big time!!!So to sum up, low cost, value for money, nice people, great scenary, lots of bargains!

Wonderful place, no real crime, extremely clean and people very friendly. Go for it.

I've stayed in Varadero for 2 weeks and enjoyed it. The locals are very friendly and Will do anything to help. The beaches are some of the best I've seen. I was there in August and it was very, very hot!
BUT, there isn't a lot to do and even though i really enjoyed it, I wouldn't go back. I preferred Cancun. Muce more to do.

I have been to Cuba. We stayed for a week in Varadero, which is a popular tourist beach resort area. We pretty much stayed in the resort except for a day trip to Havana.

I have travelled a lot in the Caribbean, and I have to say that with the exception of seeing Havana, which is a fascinating city, I would not recommend Cuba. The beach's are nice, but there are better ones in places like the Dominican Republic or Jamaica.

The atmosphere of the place is not nice, and despite being in a resort, you can't really get away from the communist feeling

I would recommend the Domincan Republic - gorgeous beaches, fun day trips, beautiful, well-maintained hotels. Punta Cana area is the nicest.

Hope this helps! Have a great honeymoon, wherever you decide to go!

I don't think so. There is a U.S. military base there... and they aren't even allowed to leave base because its unsafe... I would pick something else.. like Cancun... Cayman Islands... Jamaica.. etc
