Curacao is beautiful, I stayed at the Super Clubs Breezes, the beach is beautiful, it's 25 minutes from the airport and only 15 minutes to the shopping downtown. Aruba is a good choice too! I'd go by price as both destinations are to die for!

I recommend Curacao
Curacao is not just beaches. Curacao has a very strong culture, and the history of the island is reflected everywhere. There are museums (Kura Hulanda Museum, Maritim Museum for example) that show where the cuture originated from, and what how the island itself came to be.
There are loads of other things besides just beaches, shopping and casinos as well. There is a Sea Aquarium with a Dolphin encounter, sea lion encounter and many other things, an Ostrich farm, a Fish farm, a couple of National Parks, Hiking trails, horseback riding, bike rental for great biking in some of the parks and of course great boat trips.

Aruba...without a doubt. You will never find such hospitable people anywhere. There's plenty to do, sunny days and beautiful beaches. But if they have one downfall it's the Belashi Beer...tastes like Heineken if you ask me, nothin' better than an ice cold Polar Beer on the Baby's beach, or sitting outside at Coco beach and watching the water roll in. And I don't care where you are on that island you'll never see such beautiful sunsets. Once you go, you'll be back time and again.

Gee what a can of worms this question opened up...What other country in the world would have opened their country up to such scrutiny as Aruba did? Allowing US authorities and private people to question people and comb their country side? certainly not Mexico, Greece or Canada for that matter. Sorry Petunia, I gotta agree... what was Natalee thinking going in an unknown country with people she didn't know? and what about her supposed "girlfriends" why did they allow her to be alone? with friends like them, I wouldn't need enemies.

if you're looking for culture and history, go with curacao. there is jewish history there in the jewish quarter as well as african history. curacao was a part of the "golden triangle" which was the slave trade route. the resort of kura hulanda has a museum dedicated to that history. it's very interesting.

another thing about curacao is it is a bit more "authentic". i love aruba dearly, but it does cater to the American clientele (i.e- it's a bit more "americanized".) curacao doesn't.

if you're going for long stretches of beach, go to aruba. if you're a hardcore diver, go to curacao.

Curacao is known for it's exquisite beaches and scuba diving but there is another side. Curacao has a historic port capital Willemstad with old charm and contemporary culture. Rich history, historic bridges and forts,impressive architecture, museums and a vibrant art scene. Has a very european flavor.

That is the most idiotic comment that i have read for today. Why don't you go and try educating ur self on a topic that is so sensitive before bringing it in the open. Apparently u are one of the ppl we don't need coming to the Caribbean, we don't need ppl who have no idea what they are speaking of and passing judgment. You know what ur type are called down here in the West Indies: UGLY AMERICANS because u only can see what others are doing wrong but never ur own government. I have been to both. Both Islands have about the same weather. I think that Curacao has beter snorkling. We did have a problem in Curacaco our rental car was broken into and they took all of my money out of my wallet but left my cc and id so it could have been worse. I did return there the next year but kept everything of value in a water proof container in my swimming shorts zipped pocket.
Aruba is also very nice, I think you will have a great time at either island. Aruba seems to have more choices of hotel brands to stay at.

THERE IS NO WAY ON GOD'S EARTH I'd SPEND MY MONEY IN ARUBA when their government cant and wont find that missing girl from ALABAMA and wont PROSECUTE the SCUM THAT MURDERED HER!!!

PLEASE, go to CURACAO and a WONDERFUL TIME and send the gov. of Aruba a note from C. saying why you chose to vacation elsewhere!!! It may be "just one girl", but that was a beautiful young girl who had a right to life and a right to have her murderers brought to JUSTICE -- it's been 2 yearss and it's a very small island -- where's her body ????? The gov. probably knows, the family and our world is still suffering !!!! 9/11 WAS MADE OF OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE MURDERED, but they were all individuals just like that poor high school girl in Aruba!!! Please, spread the word to boycott ARUBA until they present her body to her parents and prosecute those murdering boys!!! (I believe the main murderer was a rich Dutch citizen of Aruba)
