Dancehall question Mavado vs Vybz Kartel?

While I don't really subscribe to most of either's lyrics, I do think Kartel's lyrics are sooo much better and more cleverly structured. He uses a lot of puns that really makes listening to his songs entertaining. Often I can't help but smile when I listen to him. I think he's a talented songwriter.

When interviewed they both say their gun, an violent lyrics doesn't mean a thing and shouldn't be taken seriously, yet they are both been held on gun charges, wonderful lessons for the youth, isn't it.

Hmm this is tough cuz i love love love Kartel but I love Movado too. I think they are both so talented and versatile. At one point a riddim wasn't hot to me unless a Kartel was on it but now I feel the same way about Movado. Hmmm...If I had to pick I'm gonna have to go wit Addi but only because a lot of my all time favorite songs are by him and that's just because he's been around longer.

Vybz Kartel ! I love both cause there skinny, tall and black ! They make me love dark skin guys. But I pick Vybz Kartel cause I was singing to his songs way before Movado came out. I love Movado still he's sexy ! And they know how to deejay really really good !

Kartel,
I like Movado but, I feel that all his songs are gun tunes....
Kartel has more appeal to me because besides the gun tunes, he sings (DJ) girl tunes. The girl tunes within themselves make you want to get up pon yuh toe point and wine all night.
Movado to me is equally a great artist and I love his songs too, recently he has redeemed his self to me with Money Changer, and Which Gal, and Im on the rock, but prior to that all I heard in my opinion is muder dem rassclawt (NOT IN THOSE EXACT WORDS BUT, WHAT I AM SAYING IT WAS PURE KILLING)
The bottom line is these guys come from the ghettos of Kingston so dem dj about what dem see, depending on where you are from in town this may or maynot be your reality. As a Jamaican I love dancehall including the gun tunes, but want the violence to stop inna Jamaica cause it ah mash up wi country and everyting weh happen dem blame yardie fa.

I prefer Kartel, even though he sings about guns and war, he still take time out to make music for da ladies, even though every time i listen to one of those songs i'm laffin my butt off. now mavado, he deals with killing and and everything, but he doesn't really have any female tunes....and besides kartel tunes are btter than mavado...theyboth faced off and kartel killed mavado, iwas rollin wen i heard "MOFRAUDO" ya'll should go listen to it, it is so good, and funny, kartel jus talented bad. kartel to di worl

The both have one thing in common: I know (of) them before them 'buss' and they have come WAY further than i thought they would.

Too often i feel as though Kartel deals with his music as a 'hobby'. He really wants to be a drug/gun dealer. Kartel LOVES GUNS. By his music you can also tell that he loves women.

My musical Preference? Movado. He is a real ghetto Soldier living through music. He loves music more than violence ANY DAY. Regardless of how much he sings about guns & murder, i know prefers to sing it than to live it.

Movado is the type to have guns around as a necessity. Personally i think that is just an 'alliance' thing. They don't walk around shooting up the place, but them "nah go mek nuh man tek dem fi nuh p****".

Kartel is the type to specialize in ALL types of guns imaginable. If he could own a gatling gun he would. he makes it his business to OWN (and shoot) hundreds of different kinds of guns...literally. Its NOT an act. And these guns are typically left in the hands of the ghetto youths around him.

Movado?? The sky is the limit right now. When Jay-Z can say that "Movado has taken the music to the ears of so many people who have never even heard of dancehall before"... you know how deep his career is. Jay-Z has NEVER done a song with a Dancehall artiste before. EVER.
