Desination Weddings???

My fiancé and I are planning a destination Wedding. Has anyone had or been to any great destination weddings? We would like to get married on a beach…preferably a private one. We would also like to find a hotel that will take care of all accommodations and can help with group rates on airfare and rooms. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I had a destination wedding, we got married at the beach. A private beach really is the way to go, because if not, the police can interrupt your wedding. Even if you have permission from the police of that county to get married on the beach, they can still come ask for proof. To me that wasn't worth the risk for them to come and interrupt my marriage. If you look online, the place you are from or would like to wed, usually you can find a hotel that has a wedding package. Good luck

Everyone always try Jamaica, Barbados, St Lucia, Puerto Rico. Try Haiti then tell us how it is.

The Caribbean has the most beautiful beaches, miles of powder white sand and crystal blue water. The Dominican Republic has very nice beaches and I also like the Riviera Maya area too.

My advise is to contact a Destination Wedding planner and if you have an idea about what you want your wedding to look like, that would be a great start. Also ask yourself some questions:
1. How or why have you decided on having a Destination Wedding.
2. Are you inviting guests and what do you think is a reasonable price for them to attend your wedding and how long do you want they to stay - 3, 5 or 7 nights.
3. What is the most important thing you want to remember from you wedding day.
4. Do you have an alternate destination if St. Lucia is out of your price range.
5. Are you paying for any of your guests accommodations.

A really good Destination Wedding planner will also make arrangements for your guests from whatever airport they fly out of, book their rooms and arrange for their transportation to and from the resort. They will also have the wedding ceremony packages for the resort you choose and will work on your behalf with the onsite coordinator to make sure your day is as perfect as it can be.

Try th cayman Islands, there are a number of high end resorts here which can organise anything you want, I would prob say start with the Ritz and go from there. Caymans is a high end location and a lot of the services offered in America are esily available here, it has been featured on destination weddings. Good Luck

The new trend is to get married and honeymoon on the same
spot. This is excellent because there is no red tape and it is no stress and cheaper. For a Premium service go to .
www.platinium-travel.com, they are the Nr 1 in the Dominican
Republic. The only thing you have to worry is your papers (legal) and to say "yes" at the civil wedding ceremony. ON A
PRIVATE BEACH if you want or on a private yacht, or ...
name it, and you will experience it! Congratulations!!!

Have you tried Sandals resorts? the sandals resorts used to have wedding packages and are well aware of all the necessary requirements. There are also Superclubs resorts or hotel chains. Getting married in the carribean is so popular that most resorts and hotels have concierge services that will help you with all the details. However, it is more difficult these days because of the Dept of Homeland Insecurity. You may want to consider a US territory like the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico. A friend of mine will be doing that later this month in USVI.
