Hi read all thee other answers before i decided to answer .
OK from the US you can go to Jamaica with just a drivers licence until October after that you will need a US passport .
All the spring beakers used to come down to negril for party times and all they ever had was driving licence .
The rules was changed last year but by the Jamaican authorities then they realised that they would lose so much money they gave more notice and now cut off date is October .
Hope this helps |

They are advertising on the television that you can travel to Jamaica with no need for a passport if you are a U.S. Citizen. Im not sure if there is a catch though. Good Luck :) |

Yes you do. I am going to Jamaica next month and when booking your vacation, it will ask if you have a passport. I just got mine this year and it took less than 2 weeks to come back. Remember, you have to take your birth certificate when you apply for the passport. |

Yes, and always have it with you. Some neighbors of mine went to Jamaica (with a passport), but then went to an airport to pick up some friends they were vacation with, but didn't take their passports with them! So they had to go all the way back to the hotel, get their passports, an then go BACK to the airport and pick up their friends. So, hope you enjoy your trip to Jamaica. |

Yes, the airlines will not allow you board the plane back to the USA without a passport. If they do, they are fined $3000 and you will go through a lot of unneccesary hassle with immigration. |
