Do Jamaican all-inclusives still discriminate against same-sex couples? |
I heard from a gay employee @ a top rated all-inclusive in Jamaica, that the resorts themselves, don't discriminate against same-sex couples, as they have in the past as long as PDA's are extremely minimal. Has anyone experienced otherwise in the very recent past?
(PDA-Public Display of Affection) I've been to a Couples resort (6/05) w/a girlfriend and we had a great time. We'll be returning this fall. |

Yes mi country don't really tolerate same sex couples but its mostly men they have problem with! You must read our newspapers, you will get a full insight of what happens down there... It's not that Jamaican's hate the person it's just that they don't like the lifestyle that people choose e.g. gay/lesbians.... |

I had a great time last year with a boyfriend, and though not same sex, we did not mesh with the "lifestyle" crowd at Hedo III- but it was fine, we had a great time, just said "no" to the come-ons, and it was a beautiful resort- plus, the "mild side" ( clothing allowed, but not required) half of the resort was really isolated- I was able to sunbathe topless comfortably, they ahd scuba and sailing, and I doubt they would even nod at same sex PDA's- though they may assume you were half of hetero couples that hooked up... we got a last minute very cheap deal and thought what the hell? We had onely been dating for a couple weeks ( and have since broken up..) but I would go back anytime!!! |

As long as there is no cross-dressing nor PDAs everything should be fine. There are lots of gays in Jamaica. The key is not to offend people. Check with the specific resort you want to stay at, just to make sure what their policy is. |

When u are in the tourist area you can do whatever u want no one really cares! once you step out of the toursit area you might get some pretty nasty feedbacks.
A lot of Jamaicans in Jamaica will pretend as if they don't like gays/lesbian but when you are alone with them in private they are the best same sex lovers! I know because that's where i got my first lesbian experience. |
