Do Trinidadian women like North American men?

I may have a job down there, and although I am NOT an Don Juan, it would be nice to have some dates and maybe find someone special. So, how do the Trinididad women (black, Indian, mixed, whatever) feel about white North American men?

Trinidad women do not have a collective consciousness, so their feelings will vary...

I remember in misspent youth, if a young American man was present at a party, some girls (not me) stampeded to be at his side for the duration of the night. Just because he was white. Gag.

Some women would be very shy, as they are used to the whites being part of the power structure and it would be just too weird to be involved.

Then you have well-educated women who may share your interests and are happy to take you out and show off their islands.

Watch out for the gold and green card diggers, there are still some of them out there. Be cool, treat the ladies with respect and I am sure you'll get lots of dates. You'll be the damn luckiest man if you can catch and hold a Trini woman!

Be nice to us, and we'll be nice to you. One tip, make us laugh. Trinidad has the most beautiful women in the world. Don't be intimidated though, cause we're friendly.

Trinidad is a melting pot of multiple cultures, races, religions, etc. including black, caucasian, indian and chinese, to name a few. You won't have a problem finding a date there. Trinis are some of the proudest, happiest, and most intriguing people you'll ever meet and you should consider yourself very lucky to have to opportunity to live there!

Oh, and to MrJohnson, many Indians were taken to Trinidad & Tobago as indentured labourers for the British Empire after the abolition of the slave trade in 1834. See below:

Trinidad was originally settled by Amerindians of South American origins. It was rediscovered by Christopher Columbus on his third voyage in 1498. Trinidad remained in Spanish hands until 1797 (when it was ceded to the British), but it was largely settled by the French and their African Slaves. After the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the British Empire in 1834 several Immigrant Indentured Laborer groups, including Portuguese, Chinese and Indians, were employed to fill the labour void created when the liberated Africans left the plantations.

Maybe you've just met the wrong people so far. I am a Trini, born and raised but live in Tobago now, I have lots of freinds' all over the world and I am quite friendly towards North American, British, German, locals on the island. To me, there is no color, creed or race and everyone should be liked because of theselves and not their color. I have dated American guys and I do not have a problem with anyone, I think they are kind, friednly and warm people. Hope it all works out for you, do not feel left out, it will all get better. If you happen to visit Tobago, drop me a line, I will be happy to chat with you.

They are not particularly friendly, as they presume most men, including americans, are looking to sex. Also, it still has that colonial, dont-trust-the-whiteman heritage, though not nearly as strong as it is in the bahamas, jamaica, and other places, because of the mix of peoples you mentioned. It resembles cuba
in it's mix, but even stranger, because hindi people from india
made there way there too, god knows how or why. So the women
are REEEEEAAAALLY exotic! Trinidad has some really freaked-out animals like ocelots(little leopards that lost fear of humans long ago, like the galapagos, and beg for food), and nasty caimans(croc relatives that are obviously not tame, and like
to eat locals and tourists if given half a chance). The friendliest
local chicks are in Chaguanas, because it is the most cosmopolitan city on the island, and the biggest. Go to Chaguanas.com to learn more about it.
All in all, Trinidad women will think gringos are looking for a piece of their local ***, and will put up defences. Be nice, and maybe they'll open up to you. It takes a long time for them to trust, but they are sweet as hell once they open up. Finally, if you are looking for a quick piece of ***, try the American, Euro, and Canadian tourists. If you want a nice little affair with a local broad,
be nice, and give her time to open up, so she knows you aren't a gringo just looking to het in her pants.
Need I also add, Trinidad and Tobago are VERY, VERY, dangerous. Crime rate on a par with Jamaica. You sound like
a nice, naive guy, and you will get your nuts cut off messing with the local women, especially if you are gringo. Go on
trinidadexpress.com and check out the daily murders. Just yesterday a women was strangled and beheaded, two gangbangers were executed in the woods, and a women was kidnapped and raped in a taxi cab. Are you sure you want to work there? If you treasure your vital parts, don't mess with the local chicks. Better yet, go work at a much safer island, dude!

I am a Trinidadian woman and there is no problem in being with someone of another race....exactly the reason why in your question you referred to some as "mixed, whatever" I must add though that we Trinis are very picky and we have a saying "See meh and com live wit meh is two different ting"...meaning that someone can be different to how they seem if you and them start dating or even living together

LaLa B
Im trini n we are really mixed so we go with anything n not by race
