hi

Do cubans have problems with americans vacation in cuba?

Or does America just not want us there, because this country's government hates Cuba so much.

As Richard K said...Americans are warmly welcomed. Cuba does not stamp passports and especially so if they know you are American. They're accomodating.

The US is not saying that travel to Cuba is illegal...it's spending money in Cuba that is illegal...thus the embargo and preventing business dealings. If you apply for a travel license through the OFAC for various special reasons, you can be free to travel and spend money, etc....
Otherwise just travel via 3rd country and avoid paper trails (receipts, tickets, souvenirs, etc).

It's just all political...even if you're not a US citizen but are residing in the States, it makes your travel to Cuba very difficult unless you go via a 3rd country.

I hope you can go one day!

Richard K
Not at all, Cubans welcome Americans they are treated exactly the same as any other nationality visiting their country. As for where they can and cannot go there's no difference in the U. S. where military installations are also out of bounds for tourists You can go and travel throughout Cuba the same as anyone else.

I've seen Americans in Havana. You are better off through Canada rather than Mexico

honestly i dont think cubans would have a problem with americans there. everybody is different but i got the impression that americans werent disliked too much at all , more of a mystery than anything

Cubans actually enjoy for Americans to come down to Cuba. Cuz they know it is very difficult for Americans to get there and they appreciate us risking the possibility of getting caught for Americans to see them. One time, a group of Americans visiting Cuba disguised themselves as Canadians, and when the Cubans figured out they were Americans, they were overwhelmed with joy. Cubans do not directly hate America. They just hate George Bush and the current staff in Washington.

i dont think cubans have any kind of problems with americans in the island. for them americans are just tourist and whenever they know you are foreinger theyll trat you like a king thats just the way they are since not many americans visit the island

cuba is a communist country---their government restricts americans to only certain areas and it has nothing to do with our government not wanting us there
