"Unless they change laws and require that passports are needed for travel between States, then no, you do not need a passport. The US Virgin Islands are a territory of the US along with Puerto Rico. As long as they remain so, they are governed by the same regulations as the other States."

However, if you are looking to sail off of the island into the British Virgin Islands or other neighboring countries, you will need a passport.

No Passport Needed to Travel to Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands but you know what, it is safer to bring your passport with you at all times.

ootatiana
No, you don't if you are a US citizen.

You got 3 correct answers, one who admits he doesn't know and then "Nd' gave his usual WRONG answer on this subject. Those who said you do NOT need a passport togo to the USVI are correct.

RedSoxfan1982
If you are flying there YES you do need one. Even though the government says you don't you do need it. They require it now.

NO passport needed if you are a US citizen. Traveling from the mainland to the USVI is like traveling within the United States. USVI are territories of the USA.

You will need your original birth certificate and a valid photo ID (license).

Have a great time in Paradise.)

I am not entirely sure about this one. But, I know that I can tell you one thing: Bring it anyway!!!!

I am sure you dont want to have to go all the way back home if they tell you that you need it. I would bring it just in case.

Safe Travels!
