No, if you are a US citizen you do not need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico or any other US territory, Your state issued ID is enough.

well it all depends on Your Nationality and Your immigrat status.

Us citizen tarveling from the USA..a Valid ID is all your need.

Legal residents coming from USA...LPR card and another Valid ID.

www.gotopuertorico.com

People from other countries will need a Valid Passport with a USA Visa.

If you are a U.S. Citizen and you are traveling directly from the US, YOU DO NOT and never will need a passport.

PUERTO RICO IS PART OF THE US!!!!

If you are traveling to Puerto Rico via another country, like on a cruise ship and stopping in other countries on the way, you would need proof of citizenship and a picture ID until this summer, when you WILL Need a passport. I would get one if this is the situaion.

From Where?
You do realize that this is a world-wide forum, didn't you?
If traveling from the USA...a passport is not needed.

If you're a US citizen you dont because Its a US territory.

cooper
where are you travelling from?

either way i would say that you do. :)

jace
starting next year yes you will need one, the reason is that many dominican immigrants sneak to P.R and then sneak into the U.S.

NOT REALLY.

It depends, from the mainland US if you have ID and you are Resident or citizen you are OK, not needed.

If you are not resident or citizen, you will need it if your are traveling from somewhere else different then US territory.

If your are traveling from US and you have no legal documents I would say don't try it because you can get caught even if you just need an ID. Then you will have problems.

However, HAVE FUN!!!!!

pura_rosa
YES, the new laws dictates we need them, those easy go lucky days of birth certificate traveling are gone.

superdwarves321
Yes of course! That country is specially dangerous this time of year. You need to take a class about wat to expect in the country! I went there two years ago and I barley made it in the class itself.
