We are traveling there in December, and our health dept. suggested Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus with a suggestion of malaria depending on if we were traveling off the resort, which we are not. I would suggest checking with your local health department and see what they suggest. |

I didnt need any, but the shots that the comments above suggested i have had a long time ago, so maybe that is why I didn't need them. All I needed was my passport.

Yes you do , I am from the Dominican Rep myself
Hepatitis A and B, Yellow Fever, Flu shot for hay fever (it is very humid). Tetanus shot if due for one
There is a disease called Dengue is not contagious but it is awful to go through.. Anyway I don't mean to scare off Dominican Rep is beautiful Island and you will have fun, but better be safe than sorry, you might not need all of them but the yellow fever is the most important.

You don't say from where you are traveling. While it may not be mandatory, it may be wise and precautionary to get the ones suggested.
Traveling from the US I have been to D.R. 5 times and never 'needed' any shots to exit or re-enter the US. I have also never 'caught' anything, other than sunburn, while there.
