Do the citizens of other Caribbean Islands Hate/Grudge Jamaicans?

i am jamaican born. but i spend half my time in cayman.. parents in cayman... but i school in jam. i cant help to realise that there is some hatred/grudge against jamaicans here in cayman. its very obvious here in cayman because caymanians are very out of order. in that they are not afraid to insult, put down, dgrade ppl... (and you know most yaadie here to hustle a money so then haffi suck it up)

but also i have had some experiences in other countries for example barbados... i really got a cold shoulder from many ppl once they heard my accent.. and i guess figured my nationality. i was even stopped from entering a store once. :( its really horrible.

i also speak to some ppl from trini barbados etc and i get a rude vibes from them sometimes...

if anyone agrees or have the same experiences.. please share. why do you think this is so?
Additional Details
a friend of mine says that ppl from the Lesser antillies are afraid of us and says we are wicked so because we eat poison... i.e Ackee!! hehehehe i dunno how true this is but it is funny.

in my history class we discuss this.. and we see some historican issues. the fact that jamaica was the hottest thing back then, financially and in developement. first to be independent of the FWI. and the fact that jamaica wanted out. etc

we also talk about now... the fact that jamaica is the most popular caribbean island... the fact that ppl dont even know the accent different (americans etc) and auto think that a caribbean person is jamaican.
for eg. Jamaica and Caribbean restaurant. my teacher sed she saw a restaurant with a name similar to that.. as if jamaica isnt apart of the caribbean..

we discussed it in class and made a conclusion that there is some grudge because jamaica takes the identity of the whole caribbean.. to most foriegners who know little about it anyway (most of them)

I am not sure about ALL but,I have seen and heard some bias towards Jamaica from other west indians. I heard them say that Jamaican are cocky etc....

Firstly the issue between Haiti and Jamaica has been ongoing. Haiti was the 1st black country that gained its independence so because of that it (Haiti) has been and will always be shunned by others.

We Jamaicans are just a bit cocky, however we have achieved so much in such a short period of time. Not to mention we are famous for great things and people.
Colin Powell-Jamaican
Harry Belafonte-Jamaican
Notorious Big-Jamaican decent
Marcus Garvey-Jamaican
Michael Lee Chin-Jamaican billionaire richer than Donald Trump
don't even talk about the one and only BOB MARLEY

accomplishments:
1. Taking music to higher heights with Bob Marley, who happens to have more white fans than black.
2. Fastest man in the world currently outta JA
3. Summer Olympics: medals like crazy
4. First African American and youngest solo pilot to circle around the globe.
5. First Caribbean nation bold and risky enough to participate in the winter olymipcs..bobsledding....now that's risky
6. One of the few islands that still has it's own national carrier.
7. dancing and dancehall music
8.Grammy award winners....all now Machel Montano from Trinidad can't get a grammy
I can go on and on, but the answer forum would have to get shut down due to overuse......

I can only speak about one Caribbean country: The Dominican Republic. There doesn't seem to be any hostility against Jamaicans there. Dominicans are too busy hating Haitians to dislike people from any other country. Of course, not many Dominicans have ever met anyone from Jamaica, since the country is Spanish-speaking and Jamaicans don't move there much.

Before u go on talkin about being hated..check what goes on in your country...You hate on Africans in Jamaica, u get the same reception there n u nagging. You dont expect all to like you, do you?

Well l know that people in TRINIDAD love Jamaicans!! They love you all so much that they are willing to foresake their national music, soca/calypso for your dancehall/reggae.
They love Jamaicans so much that last year when you all had damage done to the island because of the hurricane, their Prime Minister approved 3million$ U.S to help put things back together in Jamaica.
They love you all so much that even tho their country is rich in OIL and NATURAL GAS etc, they don't pass judgement on Jamaica because of it's staggering murder rate, in fact it seems like people in Trinidad want to be just like Jamaica because they have a considerable hike in murders too!
And even tho Machel Montano hasn't gotten a Grammy yet, l noticed that Byron Lee after years of attending Trinidad and Tobago Carnival (the greatest show on earth), he has for the last ten yrs brought the one thing that Jamaica never had, but now enjoy Carnival, soca. calypso!
So let me quote one of Trinidad's famous sons of Calypso, The Mighty Stalin line.
Ah say it's one race..............the Caribbean Man.
Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it.
ONE LOVE!
======================================...
I find it funny that the only thing you took me up on is about the murder rate!! What l was getting at is that some people are so full of themselves that they don't realise that there are people who are there when you need them, even if you don't think you need them and all this rubbish talk about who grudge who is of no merit because l think it's only us the small man who keep studying who hate/like us!
Go out there and make a name for yourself and stop studying who gives a damn about you!! yah heard!!
