Do they hassle you at customs in the Dominican Republic?

I'm going to go to the DR for 3 days on monday and I was just wondering if they hassle you at customs there or if they are just happy you're there to spend money. Everytime I go to canada they hassle me hardcore and rip my luggage all apart.

Security will hassle you only if you are carrying on prohibited items. (guns, knives, liquid more than 3 oz etc)

With customs, you just pay duty if you are over the limit on items you bring into the country. Follow the rules and no one will say anything to you.

Don't worry, enjoy and have a great time in the Dominican Republic.)

If your are traveling with a charter, probably they will even not look at you. All depend on your behavior, but generally they are friendly and like anybody in the world they like to win some money. Enjoy it!

You will not have any problems getting into the DR. You will have to buy a stamp for $10, so plan on having cash ready as soon as you get off the plane. remember if you buy booze there, wait until you actually get into the terminal--after you go through the security checkpoint.

Have fun--Its a great place and remember to leave your heavy coat at home. Our attorney over there has never even owned a sweater, and dont expect much as far as food goes. The food there sucks.

Nope, they are pretty friendly. They will only hassle you if you have something you should not have.

They are just looking for payoffs here in the DR. Customs like everything else is a bit twisted here.

If you are going on a charter they probably won't even check you. If you are smuggling a $20 dollar bill works great.
